No wrestler has ever beaten Mcgregor

And he did not go to college and further his wrestling base and was not ever a D-1 wrestler. There is a big difference between being a good high school wrestler and being immersed in a solid D-1 college wrestling program.

Wrestlers leave a D-1 college wrestling program a hell of a lot more skilled than they were when they entered it 4 years earlier. You cannot discount the coaching and the amount of experience obtained in that time.

There is only one GSP.
LOL wrestling "skills" are limited. It doesn't take years of experience to be good at it like BJJ. If he was a great HS wrestler then he would have been a great division 1 wrestler as well.

wrestling has many limitations and its not real combat. So its not unusual for a wrestler to be out wrestled in a cage.

It's obvious you've never wrestled.

wrestling is a simple game and bjj is far more complex.

Are you really saying that a college senior learned nothing being in a D-1 program for 4 years and is not significantly better than when he was a high school senior?

GSP has a total of zero wrestling matches. Didn't grow up wrestling or anything yet he was able to man-handle division 1 wrestlers in mma. The wrestling skills needed in mma are limited. BJJ is the far more important skill even if you just compare the common skills like ground positions.

Royce Gracie proved that when he beat Don Frye. Frye out-weighed Gracie by like 100 lbs and was a great wrestler and Royce's skills aren't considered that great in the BJJ community yet he subbed Frye.

exactly.

Mendes was giving him absolute FITS, prior to gassing the F out.
Only because mcgregor wasn't preparing for a wrestler. Mcgregor's 2 toughest fights were the one's he accepted on short notice. People mention how well Mendes and Diaz did on short notice but don't think that maybe the reason they did so well is that Mcgregor wasn't preparing for them.

theres really good athletes in mma who have a natural grappling ability and they can out wrestle top wrestlers.

Good point, he pieced up Olympic team alternate Eddie Alvarez on the feet.

This. He beat Mendes, but he looked like shit until Mendes went for that choke. He might have improved his wrestling but at 155 Khabib is going to ruin him if he gets him down.
Your right if Khabib can get it there ,he chin is very touchable and lets face it mac hits hard and well so 50/50 .i really dont see this as a long fight either way

So your example is a group of 1? One outlier is not significant sample size. You've never even trained have you? You certainly have never wrestled before.

A side note Gracie didn't submit Don Frye. They never fought. I'd suggest you watch more fights and post less.

Reach is the only way to beat Conor.

Nate and Ferguson are the only 2 who can do shit.

Conor wrestling is getting better, and by the time he fights anyone with good wrestling - which will not be Khabib, he is losing to Ferguson, Conor TDD will be pretty much better than almost anyone.

He has the money to bring the best out there to train with him. Wrestling isn't a problem right now as Conor is already great at TDD, and it won't be a problem at all against anyone after Conor bring those people.

However, reach will keep being Conor hard thing to deal with. Conor striking style is made for him to wreck anyone who doesn't have a big reach, and he is doing that. Conor has a big reach, and he has the best counter of the game, also his speed is crazy. You can't do much if you don't have reach on him. And even with the reach, chin is also important, there is not a lot of fighters who can his shots.

Those who have will still need to have a good chin and good striking, and Ferguson sure has.

Those who don't, well, they will keep losing to Conor by first round finish, or they can get dominated like Holloway was.

Mendes is the only legit MMA wrestler on that list. Mentioning Siver as a "wrestler". Lol. Mendes was owning him until he gassed. Conor fights a legit wrestler with a full camp he could be in some trouble. Woodley would DESTROY him.

I thought Conor fought a bit recklessly in the Mendes fight. If he fought like he did Alvarez, that fight would've looked a lot different.
