So the lady doing the comparing lived through it, as I'm sure you are aware.
I think the point is, that it is a gradual process, they didn't just start off with a star of David and beating them in the streets, there was a long buildup of narrative and blame, which created the environment and badwill towards them which made such behaviour possible.
"Show me where people are being rounded up for not wearing masks"
I could dig out videos from several countries of police beating members of the public for not wearing a facemask, or what about Canada and the camps, of the forced isolation in hotels, what about the vaccine passports - here is the UK there's talk they'll be needed for attending sporting events/shops etc....
We are still relatively early in the cycle, and if we consider how attitudes have changed over the last year, it can quite easily illustrate just how far we come, down this (really not good) path.
Thanks for taking the time to watch it.
Here is the issue: you're just looking at actions, and not the causes and context surrounding those actions.
Let's say, I punched a guy in the face because he was Asian, because I don't like Asians.
And the next day you punched that same guy in the face because he grabbed your wife's ass, would you just look at the action and say we were both right or wrong to hit the guy?
Nazism is built on anti-Semitism, racism, and extreme nationalism. The actions they did were to help further those things.
To say that "Well, the Nazis made the Jews wear a star so that they can be easily identified, and the governments of today want people to get a vaccine passport so that they can be identified...well those are the same actions. So we can make the comparison"
I'm sorry, but that is really, really dumb. We need to do more than just look at actions and results. They don't mean much of anything without understanding and analysis.
"hey, I'm doing ____ in order to further my goal of Aryan supremacy"
"hey, I'm doing ____ to get a virus under control so that we can all hurry back and go back to our normal lives"
If people can't see the difference there, this world is absolutely fucked the next time a pandemic comes around, or a severe food or water shortage, or we have to take serious action on climate change, or anytime we have to get together and do something for the greater good of our planet and community. We don't live on our islands. It's past time people recognize this.
