Bench
fuck it, I wont even mentioned it, was warming up and failed at 95kg, wtf? so sloppy form, My bench feel completely burned out. havent progressed in it since june and it makes no sense at all, why I should keep pushing it. Going to switch to push press for a good while! and bench a little on low stress day.

deadlift, missed 185kg x 2, missed the 2nd rep, hook grip failed..

some hang cleans, 65KG X 3
shitty day, probably the only bad day ive had while on texas.

Bad days happen, don't sweat it.

Chalk your thumbs all the way around too if you don't already. Ever since I started doing that, my hook grip hasn't failed me yet.
 
I kno, just pissed about the bench. And the hook grip failed most likely because it hurt like hell. im such a pussy, with that grip.

That sucks about your lack of progression with bench press. I am experiencing the same thing with Texas Method. My squat and deadlift are progressing nicely but my bench press is still stuck. I blame it on using a training max that was too high. Keep up the good work.

also if its really hurting that much u could try athletic tape and wrap that on your thumbs should help abit.
 
Thanks freeski, the bench is a bitch at the moment, but I blame it on my bw not increasing. When i benches 100 x 3, right before my vacation, it was a perfect day, full of energy, no school, alot of sleep and food, I was weighing 82.5 kgs, now im around 78kg. Maybe just a poor excuse, but ive heard that your bench usually goes up, when your bw goes up. Ill go with some push presses next week and do some benching on low stress day, if I feel like my bench is good again, ill switch.

Thanks Gierrod, that saturday was just really bad, + my back wasnt feeling so good, ill hopefully get 180 x 3 next sat =D ill try the tape thing, tho.

Yeah, 5x5 is no joke. Squats on day 1 are always a battle. I may give Smolov a go next year for back squat but I heard that one of the days is 8 sets of 3. That sounds rather hellish.

Btw, bench is pretty sensitive to changes in leverages. Thus the "your bench will go up if your BW goes up" saying, because the extra hypertrophy will improve your leverages (even if it had zero effect on the force your muscles can produce). /captain obvious

I honestly feel like the whole "do your 10RM for 20 reps" is just not possible for me. Maybe I have a bad attitude but I just can't even imagine it. If I consider something a true 10RM, I will fail the 11th rep so I never understood how one would squat it for 10 more reps. Having said that, 20 rep squats are fun and I would love to build them up doing a program like super squats some day. I'm also interested in smolov some time down the road.

Anyway, very nice work in here, CRZA. Keep up the good progress!
