No One At 185 Is Remotely Close to Khamzat’s Level Right Now

The man went to a MD against Usman on a short notice 2 fights prior. Khamzat is not levels above anything at MW. He's great and among the best in the division, but there are guys that pose some big threats to him. If he can clean out the division, then he's above them. Till then it's all talk and fantasy.

If khamzat is cherrypicking, surely Merab is. I fail to see the difference between either other than Merab fights more but the UFC chose all their opponents. No one has ever come out saying khamzat turned down a fight with someone because it never happened.
I was not comparing Khamzat and Merab literally, nor was I addressing Khamzat's cherry-picking. I just answered the question.

You asked who wasn't cherry-picking, and I said Merab. He's fighting whoever they put in front of him without a problem and he is beating the top BW's.

Barring some sort of out of the cage incident such as an injury or etc. there is no way he loses his belt to any other fighter in the division. Dricus stood the best possible chance and he got treated like an amateur. There isn’t a single fighter in the top 10 who poses any threat to Khamzat at all. Imavov will get ragdolled easily.
He will lose if he fights often enough. But as goes with these modern champs, they scream they will “kill everybody” and demand to fight basically every week.. but once they get the strap, good luck getting one fight a year.

I respect the Do Bronx, Izzy, Merab and DDPs who even as champs, keep a solid fight schedule.

Champs like Conor, hw Jones, Topuria, Wei Lee, and Hamzat are an absolute pain on their respective divisions.

They drag things out so pain stakingly slow and act like the they are doing us a favor when I reality we do them the favor of buying and supporting their fights.

I know plenty of people won’t agree with me — especially the Bathtubbers — but Khamzat is as special as Machida was, as Super Heavyweight Lesnar was, as Ronda was, etc. That said, if he loses once, he’ll lose all that aura, and from then on he’ll be much more beatable (unless he decides to retire right after, which is always an option for fighters from that region).

And yeah, he can lose easily. All it takes is one good punch, a few solid sprawls, and someone who just goes all in and puts him in his place. It’s often guys you wouldn’t expect (and please, spare me the Captain Obvious takes after it happens). Just look at Strickland beating Izzy, Werdum beating Fedor, JDM beating Belal (yeah, most of you said Belal would win), Leon beating Usman — and plenty of other examples.

Interestingly I just made a thread about Fluffy. I think he has good chances at beating Chimaev in a 5R

I think this is another situation where people confuse what they would like to happen with what is likely to happen.

Skill gap is a bit too wide in my opinion, but I hope we get to see it.

I am a Khamzat nuthugger. I completely dissociate what I expect from what I would like.

Agreed, but he needs to fight twice a year at a minimum as does every champ. I want to see these thoughts put to the test an proven. He proved he can get there. Now I would like him to prove he can stay healthy, hungry, and ultimately defend the title year in year out. That is what the greats do.

Fluffy, RDR, Strickland all would give him a fight.

seems like some of these posts are coordinated sometimes.

let me guess, he's like way, way, way better than gsp ever was, dood.
