i dont think theres really anyone at 155 that would give him problems aside from diaz and edgar, edgar is the only guy that would or could implement that style which happens to be penns kryptonite.

it's even worse when there are threads discussing such threads before a fight even happens.

I freely admit to being a huge BJ fan. He is my favourite fighter. With hope that my heart isn't ruling my head on this one I genuinely think BJ will win this fight, however if he loses it will be because Rory was the better fighter on the night. The size shouldn't form part of the excuse since that is an attribute which Rory possesses which will give him an advantage in the fight. If this is why he wins it won't make his win any less legitimate, since it will have been his ability to use his size to his advantage which dictates the fight, not simply the fact that he is bigger.

All I have been hearing lately from this fanbase is that BJ is "motivated, in shape, has muscles, has that look in his eye, is fired up, is gonna prove his legacy etc etc"

By all means it appears that a lot of this is true, but the question remains, even if BJ comes in on top of his game and lives up to all these words and still gets beat by Rory, will it all be for not? Will the excuses pour in that he was actually in terrible shape, didnt care, etc etc etc

What do you think? How will one of the most dedicated fan bases on sherdog react?

I'm a huge Penn fan and have never made an excuse for him. I've blamed his ill preparedness for not performing up to his potential, but that's just reality. In the case of this fight, though he seems well prepared, so if Rory beats him he does it because he's the better fighter Saturday night.

I think we'll see more excuses from Rory fans when he loses compared to the excuses when BJ loses. I think people generally are pretty real about BJ.. he's capable of great things but often doesn't deliver.. no one denies that. But i don't see people being real about Rory if he loses. He is the greatest thing since sliced bread according to many Sherdoggers.
