NINTENDO SWITCH Official Discussion v2: Nintendo's Big Comeback Starter Pack

I'm starting to think the whole dock scratching the screen thing was a user error on a couple peoples' part. Most of the people I've talked to had have no issues at all. I constantly dock and undock mine and I have not a single scratch.

8-9 months away is right around the corner? lol. That's IF it doesn't get delayed too.

They're just doing this to spread out the releases of their IP's. I'm hoping there are much more 1st party games in between now and then. I'm not talking about stuff that's already been on Xbox and PS4 for $15 either.

Ah your right I don't know why I thought it was right around the corner. Might have confused it with MK8. I don't mind the other games being released that are also on PS4/X1 because being able to play them on the go is the benefit here.

The #1 thing I thought of when this was mentioned was user error. Hard for me to believe that this obvious issue would be left unfixed and never discovered during R&D. Then again working in IT I almost always just assume human error.

There's enough room between the Switch and the dock that they don't even need to touch when you put it in place. I bet a lot of people just dock the system carelessly.

If I were to get this game, even after seeing this I would most likely still get it on Vita or Switch due to the portability aspect.

Whenever there was a PS4/Vita release I played the Vita versions... hmmm... My lifestyle of being out of the house often is conducive to that.

EDIT*

Which actually makes me think, if a game was multi-platform and "good enough" I would get it on the more portable platform.
I get that, i could never play at 20 fps most of the time. That's too choppy

I'm seeing switch's for sale on amazon that are "new" for less than the msrp. What am I missing, other than they are perhaps broken or used?

This system is BEGGING for Metroid Prime Trilogy remastered. I can see the joycons being really fun to use, even if they don't have directional aiming.

Just unboxed everything. Zelda update running. Excited to start. Disappointed it doesnt come with a controller though. That'll be my next purchase.

be careful, there were a few cheap ones selling for $0.01 that a lot of people tried to buy. The scammer obviously cancelled the sales but not until they got customer information from the transaction.

This guy gives a little insight and from what i know he's always pretty objective on things.

1 cent does seem mildly low

Gamestop, those cunts...they are trying to sell overpriced bundles for mid april. If I have to wait until mid april to get a switch, I'm not getting one out of principle.

I'm sure there is a known percentage, but how many of these systems when they are launched are bought up strictly to sell after launch when supply is low? There are boatloads of them around the web just being offered at 430+ bucks. People are shitheads.

Well, technically it is.

Our spongy, meat filled hands were not meant for such delicate devices. Why do you think they created a "screen protector" in the first place? It was because of our collective bumblefuckery.

I'm sure there are bound to be a couple defective docks which might scratch a screen here or there, but from what I've been able to gather on the internet it seems like a small percentage of users that's being blown out of proportion. Best way to tell is let some more time pass and see if this problem persists or dissipates.

I could very well just be very cautious with my Switch docking compared to most people. I haven't once just shoved it in there quickly, always take my time.

Oh I'm sure most people are kids or just people who don't treat their premium electronics nicely i agree. The dock seems to leave a lot to be desired though seems low quality/flimsy and simple rubber or something on the inside would have helped prevent the issue altogether.
