NINTENDO SWITCH Official Discussion v2: Nintendo's Big Comeback Starter Pack

Oh I'm sure most people are kids or just people who don't treat their premium electronics nicely i agree. The dock seems to leave a lot to be desired though seems low quality/flimsy and simple rubber or something on the inside would have helped prevent the issue altogether.

I'm no hardware expert or anything so I can speak for everything but the dock is alright with me. It is a little light weight but decently sturdy. I imagine down the line there will be more powerful docking stations released. Most likely if that rumor of a 4K Switch becomes true.

I want a dock like the Wii U dock

The good screen protectors are all sold out. Wish I had thought to get one earlier.

I'm kicking myself for not pre ordering a Pro Controller. I don't need one, but it would be nice to keep the Joycons attached to the tablet and then have the Pro Controller for TV mode. Hoping they don't stay sold out for too long.

honestly I wish I hadn't bought the pro controller (but it can be used on PC so I'll be using it there if need be). I played with the pro controller for a few hours on the first day and it felt great but the best way to play zelda is with the joy cons. My hands are resting on my knees and it seems extremely comfortable and relaxed. I'll probably use the pro controller exclusively for fighting games on the switch.

you're not missing much with the pro controller. I'd get a 2nd pair of joy cons honestly. I charge the 2nd pair as I am playing with one and swap them in and out.

if anybody is looking for a Switch - try calling Toys R Us. My buddy just texted me a pic of a locked glass shelves with several Nintendo Switches at our local Toys R Us. It even had several pro controllers too. It wouldn't be a store I would think to go buy any consoles so maybe yours will have them in stock as well.

Lol....."Comb the toy store, do you hear me.....comb the toy store!"

Avoiding the Zelda thread because of spoilers. But imo its the most enjoyable game since Skyrim. It reminds me of what games used to feel like when I was a kid. Magical, expansive. Zelda feels huge and yet so far doesnt feel empty. The weather and atmospheric effects are the best I've seen. Fallout had some nice effects but the world was to bland to really benefit from it. Whereas in Zelda I'm loving the wind and all the wildlife sound effects. To early to rate but this game might be one of those special games that define an era. I could see Xbox and Ps4 fans over looking it because of the art. But the game is fantastic. I love the feeling of a massive world. Especially after Fallout feeling so small.

I even like the mixing of text and speech. I'm sort of amazed Nintendo pulled this off.

Its like a mix of A Link to the Past, Skyrim, Princess Monamoke with a dash of Shadows of the Colossus

I have to highly disagree with @SaiWa here. I'd be royally pissed if I had to play BotW with only the joy cons plus grip. They're alright but they feel too small in my hands on their own. Attached to the Switch they feel fine. The Switch pro controller is absolutely top notch in terms of design and functionality imo. Very smooth and sleek, feels great in your hands. Has some weight to it too. Has the amiibo scan functionality as well as the gyro inside. On the joy cons the L and R buttons are too thin and I find myself pressing them along with the L or R triggers without trying. If you plan on getting Splatoon 2 when it comes out the pro controller is a must imo.

I also don't enjoy playing with the joy cons disconnected in each hand like Saiwa mentions. It's great that the Switch gives you so many different control options though.

Joy Cons separated in each hand is now my preferred control option for BotW.

It may change depending on the type of game.

Anyone see any Switch carrying cases that don't look "nerdy" or masculine? My wife wants a case, but doesn't like any current available options at GameStop...

I actually like this kind of art because it ages so well. You can go back to games like this years and years later and it doesn't look so bad because of the art style. I don't want it for every game but sometimes it's nice.

Anyone else have trouble with the joycons not detaching easily?

Im not getting this any time soon but will maybw towars the end of the yeat when more games are released.

How long is the new zelda game ?

a bit. it's partly due to I don't want to break it along so I am little more gentle than I should be and also you can hurt yourself (read some report about someone ripping their skin messing it up).

you will easily sink 50+ hours playing this game. Actually I don't see how anyone can beat this game in less than 50 hours (maybe even 70-80 hours) unless they have a guide (book or have played before).

Do you know if there are plans for Konami, Blizzard, From, to join the dev team? Because the only exclusive series I like in the XBONE is Forza and I can live without it. I mainly play third parties, and if they will be on the Switch I will can the One in "one" second.

If they have Diablo, Assassins Creed, and some JRPG I'm sold.
