Nike made a weightlifting shoe for the olympics.

LOL at the people who don't know the difference between Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting.

I'd like to see a picture of any Oly lifter training in Chucks .

Actually, Nike doesn't seem to know the difference either.

Dominate the deadlift in the Nike Romaleos Men's Weightlifting Shoe, designed to provide unmatched lifting stability to world-class athletes competing in Beijing.

I guess "Dominate the snatch" would've been too risque?

My training partner is getting a pair of those new Nike weight lifting shoes next week. We live in Portland and Nike HQ is in Beaverton, which is a suburb of our city. One of his gym clients works for Nike and, since my friend wears a size 9 shoe (the size Nike uses for testers) he's scoring a pair - lucky dawg!

They should have had the guy that "designed" the shoe do a little research on the sport before making that video because he sounds pretty stupid.

If they aren't too much money, if/when my adidas are too fucked up to use maybe I'll try these out.

Exactly. The shoes look cool and all but I wouldn't be too confident wearing a weightlifting shoe designed by a guy that doesn't know shit about weightlifting. I'll stick with my adistars.

How are those? I'm going to need a lifting shoe sooner or later, and these ones look pretty nice. If I could get these ones in ukrainian colours, however, these nike's would be too awesome to pass up.

I love my adistars. They're a bit narrow but I have narrow feet so they fit great...really stable. Pricey as hell though. If these ever die I'd probably replace them with the Rogues. They seem to have the most bang for the buck.

That's good to know.

Anyone who has lifting shoes wont be going back to the chucks for squats or oly lifting, unless your ankles are just insanely flexible.

So what is it then?
Adistar weightlifting shoes are for weightlifting but not for powerlifting? Are the chucks better than the weightlifting adistars when you are going heavy with squats and deadlifts? I doubt it.
