this is MMA people, not street fighting.
its very funny when u see young white kids complain about BET, "what if there was a wet" is the first thing that comes out of their mouths, wake the fuck up, BET didnt start yesterday the network is almost 30 years old, it was started when there was hardly no black people on tv, and newsflash it didnt work because there still arent many black stars on tv and BET failed its a horrible network with horrible programming....
bet was started almost 30 years ago go do some homework before u speak on something u know nothing about, there was a white entertainment television back than all u had to do was turn on the tv and switch to any channel....
Bruce Lee also said that in order to be a great fighter, you needed to be COMPLETE, hence a little of what we see from JKD. Training MMA is just as much self defense related as anything else. It just emphasizes that you be in tip top shape to compete with someone. Yes, groin strikes, eye pokes, and things like that aren't allowed in MMA, but if you know it's coming, it's just another day at the office. I hear this argument a lot, and it really doesn't apply. The Gracies have been doing their challenges forever now, and they were under the old "Vale Tudo" rules AKA "anything goes". It was done inside a dojo to keep it private, but if it was done on the sidewalk, would the outcome have been any different? I highly doubt it. They loved the no rules/no time limit thing, and in fact, still do love to fight that way. There are many videos where you see the Gracies spiking elbows into the back of their opponents heads and spines repeatedly, and no one steps in. The argument this guy is making is the same baseless, tired argument that is always made from the upset TMA'rs...upset that time has passed them by, and that fighting has evolved.
The difference is as you say "the white entertainment television" did not seperate themselves from black people and call it WET.If they did im sure the WET channel would be paying B.S. "reperations" to the black community correct? Black people have been crying equality for years and years. Now they have more than whites do and continue to seperate themselves by labeling everything with "black" in the title,This is racist behavior no matter what color you are.And if you dont recognize that you're a botard who smokes the heroin.
- Because his parents enrolled him in it and it is a traditional and popular form in China. Might as well ask why Eddie Van Halen's parents enrolled him in piano lessons or why Einstein had to take history in school.
- As soon as he got a chance, he moved away from and altered this basic system to become what he termed Jeet Kun Do. Lee saw traditional singular martial arts as too rigid and form-focused for real combat situations ... JKD represents a blending of effective techniques from a number of traditional arts, coupled with a freer form and undercut with a belief in weight training, flexibility training, modern conditioning technologies, etc. Does the way that Bruce Lee MIXED together MARTIAL ARTS sound familiar?
- Lee was also a proponent and practitioner of modern western combat arts; he once famously stated that "a man with one year's training in boxing and wrestling could defeat a lifetime practitioner of kung fu." Again, does mixing boxing and wrestling--in the context of martial arts competition--sound familiar at all?
- Additionally, Bruce Lee informally studied jiujitsu with Wally Jay.
- Bruce Lee is overall a terrible example of how effective and excellent TMAs are. He is considered a forefather of MMA, and was a vocal proponent of eschewing tradition in favor of fluidity, effectiveness, and the blending of styles into freer hybrid fighting system.
- I love when people spell "retarded" wrong.
In many real life situations, knife > gun. At close quarters, you will never have a chance to draw and fire your gun on a knife attacker.
