News Nick Diaz out of Vicente Luque fight, Themba Gorimbo steps in on short notice

Nick Diaz really fucked up by stopping his career early. I know some people cheered him on at the time, but for some people they need discipline in their life or they drift to dark spaces. Makes sense why it's taken so long for Nick to even get a comeback fight.

Its always funny when a fighter is lined up for a dirt-easy cash-fight and then get a replacement who is 10 times harder and a 100 times less famous.
Shows what a joke the sporting aspects of cage fighting is.

Well thats quite a change in excitment levels in fighters. Going from Nick to Gorimbo. Good opportunity for Themba as Luque may be as shot as it gets

Everybody saying Dana should do something, where tf is Nate at to help his brother?

How do you know Nate hasnt tried to help him, Nick's a grown ass man living his own life, it aint Nate's fault, it aint Dana's fault, it aint Cesar's fault
Addiction is a muthafucka and just because you love someone doesnt mean you can magically wave a wand and make your brother get better, for all we know Nate has done everything he can for Nick but at the end of the day you gotta let a grown man walk his own path

Nick looked great a month or so ago when the fight was announced. He looks gaunt in that video like he's been on a massive meth or coke binge. Sad shit.

Wish they could have found someone better than Gorimbo though. Luque by decision

I'd run into that pic with the discussion between Nick and Robbie on Reddit last week. I'd had believed Robbie is a real one, but that back and forth really made me respect him even more. A genuine person.

Whatever is happening with Nick, I hope he climbs out of that hole. His girlfriend is right, and I know all too well, there are only so many outcomes when you're wearing that ball and chain. You either get clean on your own, end up in prison (where you'll likely spend at least a degree of time clean, but can obviously still find what you want if you look for it, or just run back to it once you're free), or die, when you're not really supposed to. I wish Nick Diaz the best.

I always thought he just can’t handle the big league and all that comes with it.
He seemed way happier turning up to Strikeforce and just fighting. As soon as he got to UFC the no show drama started as his anxiety got the best of him it seemed.

Nate actually has a family believe it or not.....

Gil and Jake were both on Jaxxon pod with Rampage and still were close and hanging out. The topic of Nick didn't really come up before Gil left except for when they were all fighting together.

Beautiful Mexican kids.

no one gives a shit about a nick fight. He's washed. Looked awful versus Lawler. Leave him be, release him.

You have a point about the conditioning, but I saw something different.

The Diaz brothers always train for cardio and longevity, maybe he trained legit.

But not meaning to be disrespectful, but he was moving like someone with bad CTE / drug issues, or someone really old.

He hung in there, but damn the nervous system looked jilted as hell.. it was sad to watch.

Promoters in legit orgs need to stop doing this shit.

I’m tired of seeing brain damaged / elderly people consistently come into fights, look terrible then get KO’d. It’s a blight on mma, mma is brutal enough, they need to have at least some standards. Tony frrguson’s brain must look like a piece of Swiss cheese by now.

Ferguson's brain probably always looked like swiss cheese.

All thats peft now is a babybel wrapper.

That's a good point. I won't lie I can't imagine doing a million interviews while cutting weight, cameras on you nonstop for embedded, everyone watching live with expectations for you to perform better each time. The pressure probably weighs a ton, unfortunately he chose the wrong outlet.
