Strickland and Khamzat were very friendly with each other until Khamzat spoke about tapping him many times in the gym and that he would be an easy win. Aside from that, he was complimentary about him as a fighter and training partner.

Then when Khamzat became a very real threat to "steal" his titleshot after besting Rob, things started to heat up.

Let's see if we ever get to see them fight. Strickland might push for an Imavov rematch or a 3rd fight against DDP if he wins this weekend.

I don't know if that was it.. Strickland had said himself way before that that Khamzat tapped him multiple times

I remember that Strickland talked about it himself when Khamzat was coming up at WW and they used to train together sporadically.

I was slightly wrong about the timeline.
The bad blood intensified when Khamzat moved to MW and beat Usman for a title eliminator* (*according to Dana), which Sean (as champ) thought was bullshit and unearned, Khamzat replied something like; "remember how fast I tap you".

After that it seems to have become more unhinged and personal between the both of them, especially after the Whittaker win when many called for Khamzat to get the next shot instead of Strickland.

You don't know his level of involvement he could have been getting scammed too thinking he was doing something god but found out otherwise and then pulled the plug.

I went and checked and the only involvement he had was posting a 10 second clip advertising the scam which he quickly deleted after figuring out it was a scam. He also fired his manager after the incident so probably just a case of a manager telling him to post something and it ended up being a scam

He prepped the scam earlier by asking his fans what crypto he should invest in then a few days later he tells his fans to buy smesh coin.... His boyz got rich while his fans got fucked in the ass... when he makes restitution payments to everyone he shafted let me know... until them he's a scumbag, con-artist, criminal... Maybe he should start his own TV ministry... call it "Send Borozo Your Money" He certainly has the qualifacations

Strickland has been a Champion and is a title Challenger.

Khamzat has pretty much beaten only one ranked opponent in his career.

They are not at the same level.

Kamzat has promise.... But face it... Any other fighter with his record and actual accomplishments would still be considered a prospect.

Strickland derangement syndrome is heavy in this thread. I was not there, but I understand that Khamzat was going too hard with everyone during sparring, which often happens with pro fighters in MMA gym.

Marvin Vettori is also on "the same level" but I don't think he's anywhere as good as most of the other fighters in his division.

Especially compared to those at the top.

He is a tough durable fighter, but just doesnt have the stand out skills to rise to the elite.

I disagree, I think Khamzat talent/skill wise is a few tiers above Strickland. Not just by fights or achievements inside the cage but by the personal experience and stories of many fighters that have trained with him.

Much of the legend of GSP came from training sessions against much bigger opponents and how he manhandled them in practice.

Time (and fate) will reveal who is better.
