NHL Playoff Discussion, v3: OT Madness

Clearly I didn't see it the same way. The hawks have won 4 ot games this playoff and regular season combined. Not that great a recipe for advancing through the playoffs.

Edmonton is sitting there with the #3 pick and a bunch of offensive forwards.

Blues should consider moving one of d-men to the Oilers (pietrangelo, shattenkirk, bouwmeester) and making a big change up.

I don't think the Blues will trade Pietrangelo. I didn't watch many Blues games before the playoffs, but watching him in the Olympics and this series, he played pretty good.

He held out for a big payday and the Blues gave in. He's good but extremely soft in physical games. He can move the puck and he's solid positionally but over rated everywhere else.

He has a no trade clause so he'll probably stick around.

Reason I threw out his name is because he's wearing an A and the Blues need to make major changes to the leadership of this team. They have given up in three straight playoff series when the opposition fights back.

Was just going over the '07 Draft today, what a bunch of busts and cans. Outside of Kane and JVR it's basically all disappointing names. Oh, and Logan Couture. Dude can ball.

Colorado was given games 1 and 5 on a black and white striped platter.

The reffing has been pretty bad all series.

I was at game 2 and I thought there was a lot of non-calls against the Wild that should have been penalties.

Yea, I'm an Avs fan, but I'm not going to complain about a few bad calls after Cooke took out one of our best defenseman with a cheap hit. Barrie is far more valuable to the Avs than Cooke to the wild, but Barrie is likely done for the year unless the Avs make it to the finals -- he might be ready for late round 3 or 4, yet Cooke could be back if the Wild make it to round 2 to knee someone else.

The play last night on the tying goal was very close to being offside, but looked good to me.

The only thing the NHL can do is put in a coaches challenge like baseball did for things like offsides. I don't know how you could put a challenge system in for non-calls on penalties -- if the ref didn't call a penalty in real time I doubt he's going to change his own decision on a replay. The only answer is get better refs.

Goddamnit ducks that was some can work on the power play.

Turris had a much better year this year. Still not living up to 3rd overall, but had 58 pts this year. Drafted in 07 and this was his first full 82 game season in the NHL - I think he will improve again next year. Started out with the coyotes... I'd rather not get drafted than play for them.

It's also crazy to think PK Subban got picked 43rd overall.

Gagne is doing alright in Edmonton too. Poor guy hasn't even had a taste of NHL playoffs.

A lot of guys on can teams that haven't turned things around since 2007.

What a horse shit penalty. Fucking ducks canning.

Selanne is the only guy playing like a man right now.

God damnit Ducks finish off these cans.

Wanna see PUO v Canrona already.
