Lol @ Columbus getting penalty fucked into Bolivian yesterday

yeah bullshit. tyler myers ended up getting 5 and a game when they were doing a video review on somebody elses penalty. pretty sure that goes against the rules. you cant use a reviews to go witch hunting for other penalties on the play. you are only to review the penalty assessed as to whether or not it should be a 2 a 4 or a major.

so after that they took the other guy out of the box and kicked out tyler myers for a completely different hit and a completely different penalty. that was complete and other horseshit.

even the announcers were bitching about it and they couldnt find that in the rulebook. they need to take this up with the nhl. you cant abuse the video review to go hunting for other penalties on the play. you are only supposed to be rendering a decision on the penalty that was already assessed.

as for the penalties on columbus' end, if you do the crime, you do the time partner. law and order.

Yeah I wasn’t saying they were BS penalties. Just they got fucked into Bolivian on the PP

Didn't see the play, but if there is a major penalty that is missed, they can huddle up and make a call after the fact. I'm pretty sure it's a newer rule.

hope elvis' trade value just tanked after that.

winning a game in a shootout and then celebrating like you won the cup and then demanding a trade outta there the very same night lol. who does this elvis think he is? he's a nobody!

they were trying to assess a 5 on somebody else for boarding someone from behind. they already assessed 5 to him for precisely that. and then they went upstairs and reviewed it and gave 5 and a game to tyler myers for elbowing and then let the other guy out of the box and he got to skate free. it was a completely different hit on a a completely different player and a completely different penalty. its just one of the guys looked to be more hurt in the myers hit than the other guy, even though he was right back out there on the powerplay afterwards.

they were witch hunting! video review is not to be used for looking to find other penalties on the play that was not already called by an official. they are to be used to assess the penalty that the ref had already called. i've never seen that happen before. they need to take it up with the league and call for gary bettman's head on a pike. they almost lost the game on account of it. i was ready to grab my riot gear and jerry can!

tyler myers just got fined $5,000, the maximum allowed, for delivering the peoples elbow.

the NHL should be paying $5,000 to tyler myers and another $5,000 to the vancouver canucks organization just for inconveniencing them by handing out penalties and misconducts on a penalty that was never called. thats some bullshit if i've ever seen it. i am still very much emotionally traumatized because of this and i think i need to go to the hospital and get my feelings fixed up for free. we almost lost our #1 spot in the league on account of this tomfuckery.

even the commenters are with me on this.

and its not tyler myers fault that his elbow landed in the guys head. the columbus dudes a midget and he moved his head into the giants elbow space! completely legal spinning hellbow to the head right there. perfectly clean. jon jones would be proud.

and that cross check wasnt even on the numbers either, and if anything, the guy probably deserved it. so at least the video reviewers got that one right when they let they let the guy out of the box and let him skate free.

20.6 On-Ice Video Review of Major Penalties – Referees shall review all plays that result in the assessment of any Major Penalty (other than a Major Penalty for Fighting) for the purpose of confirming (or modifying) their original call on the ice.

The Referee shall have the following options after video review of his own call: (i) confirming his original Major Penalty call; (ii) reducing his original Major Penalty call to a lesser penalty; or (iii) rescinding the original Major Penalty altogether.

i dont see an option in the rulebook for the referee to perform the switcheroo and assess a penalty to somebody else on a different play after he rescinded the original major penalty. i guess the switcheroo must be the 4'th hidden option, reserved for fucking over the vancouver canucks. usually they wait until playoff time before they pull those tricks out of their bags.

this still has me rustled. the refs broke the rules just to try to fuck us. i'd be leaving messages to gary bettman's answering machine and speaking my mind right this very moment if we didn't end up winning the game.

even the announcers were shook. they literally pulled out the rulebook right there during the game and read it all out on air! we got hosed.

I hope the Canucks keep getting hosed.

I haven't been paying attention and didn't realize Dallas was doing so well.

Every Canadian fan wants their team to be the 1st in Canada to win the cup in 30 years. In reality Edmonton had a pretty good shot to beat Vegas last year, but they blew it with a bunch of dumb penalties. They lost to the champs 2 years in a row and last year was progress after getting swept by the Avs the year prior. And they appear to have a much better coach atm.

It wasn't the dumb penalties. The funnels they put in front of the net that was the biggest problem. The dumb penalties was just the excuse ;-)

Apparently Dube, Foote, McLeod and Hart have been asked to visit the cop shop in London

it looks like the canucks are on the verge of trading andrei kuzmenko to calgary for elias lindholm. calgary is on kuzzy's 12 team no-trade list but apparently he was willing to waive that

dunno what to make of this one. clearly the coach has ran out of patience with this guy, he's been a turnover machine and missing all kinds of shots that he should be at least getting on net, all while trying to be flashy and shit. he's like the only roster player on the team to have a negative +/- and he's always on the ice when the canucks get scored on. he's having a shit season, he's not consistant, and he just doesn't fit in the coaches vision

the management has wanted him out for a while ago and the writing has been on the wall for a while ever since they started benching him or making him a healthy scratch. and you dont pay 5.5 million a year to someone for them to sit on the bench or play on the 4th line.

but yeah it looks like his days, or even hours in vancouver are numbered. hopefully lindholm will be worth it.

oh shit just as i get done typing this sportsnet just announced the trade during the intermission in the sens game. kuzmenko and some draft picks to calgary for lindholm.

Surprised Calgary would trade within the division like that, and a bit surprised Elias would agree to the trade.
