Ngannou should use kicks

I guess his 4 submission wins were by haymaker.
Franc has one sub win in the UFC and that was vs a guy with a 3-7 UFC record. Franc is clearly one-dimensional (in terms of his offense) at the UFC level

He's a regular BJJ phenom lol :D

Also, he's not a crisp counter puncher like the thread suggests.

He's basically a really big strong dude with decent offensive boxing. Nothing more nothing less.

When he fights someone dangerous like Lewis, he just stands there and prays that his opponent will engage. He doesn't use any tricks, doesn't really have a plan, doesn't create openings, he just waits and hopes for the best.

And he can get up, that's his ground game. TDD and getting up.

That one dimension took him all the way to a title shot. And is currently about to get him another one. It's possible to be so good at one aspect that it allows you to make it to the highest levels of MMA. Khabib and Israel are two examples of that. Ngannou is as well.

We need @XXXXXLPREDAT0R in here to give us the latest on Francis.

"Yes it is ... Yes Jone will winning I know this but he in for the losing face FRANCIS omg be worse then Overeem way he treat Jone"

Khabib has striking (a knockdown of THE INCREDIBLE Irish striker in 2018) and he has wrestling and jiu jitsu and he has cardio. He trains all these things, he does MIXED martial arts.

Adesanya has muay Thai and boxing and cardio and his wrestling and grappling was good enough for Gastelum not to win. So he has developed varied MIXED martial arts skills.

Ngannou has none of this variety and he does not care to attempt to improve his skillset. He has good hard punching for 1 or 2 rounds. After that he needs to lie down cos he can barely stand up anymore. He is not a martial artist. He has a brief ability to punch hard and that is all he has.

That guy happens to be a NJCAA all-American wrestler, and Ngannou threw him to the ground and ripped-out his arm as if he was fighting someone two or three weight classes below.

Franc's striking skill isn't close to Khabib's wrestling/grappling or Izzy's striking, but he does fight at HW so yes it does take him places

But that's not what I was debating with the other poster

Yeah no doubt he's a crazy powerful dude

Who gives a shit? He's already good enough now to become HW champ. IMO he destroys Stipe in the rematch.

My point is that it's possible to be "1-dimensional" and still be a top tier fighter.

Kick, Francis, kick! Maybe a ground game is a better priority.

LOOOOOL @ using Anthony friggin Hamilton to gas up Ngannous “grappling”... dude went like 1-10 in the UFC before getting cut.

Some of you are so disingenuous

You’re usually a rational poster. How is it that Ngannou ‘destroys’ Stipe in the rematch? Ngannou was beat everywhere in a 50-44 loss. Stipe put on a clinic. Just wondering your logic.

Ngannou fought differently against Stipe than against anyone else. He just bumrushed him instead of picking his shots and counter striking like he usually does. He was too over-confident, barely trained, and had an overly inflated ego from the Overeem KO. Even Dana White called him out on his ego issues. I think if Ngannou fights as he usually does, he KO's Stipe in round 1.

Stipe wrestled fucked him every round and still couldn't finish him.

high level kicking takes serious practice and flexibility first...Francis is probably better off polishing his boxing at this point in his career.

also, unless you mix in kicks really well, they generally take more energy and oxidation to perform, so it can tax your stamina as well. With Francis not being the most cardio-efficient athlete due to muscle mass, that is probably not going to work out very well.

Q. who gives a shit that he's 1-dimensional and refuses to change?
A. His future OPPONENTS should give a shit as its much easier to implement a game-plan for victory against a 1-trick pony who refuses to change.

There's your answer. Bro.

You didn’t see that Stipe was following his coach’s game plan to a tee. Stipe had many opportunities to end it but stuck to the game plan. He was there to win, not make a highlight reel. Re-watch the fight if you’re so inclined and see Stipe following the plan like a robot.
