Ngannou koed so many people inside 1 minute

Back to back losses and only 1 title defense make it hard to call someone the GOAT. You'd need a long run to wipe out back to back losses, one of them to Derrick Lewis.

I don't think anybody doubts his chin and power, but he's not particularly well rounded.

Created 4 threads in the least hour.

Oof

He's insanely good at KOing other boxers and winning boxing fights which is the only thing that matters.

Tyson Fury is a freak, not sure if anyone else in history can stand with Wilder for 12 rounds.

Bermane Stiverne went 12 rounds with Wilder and he's no all-time great. There's a big gap between Fury and the next-best guy Wilder has fought (probably Luis Ortiz) so to claim no other boxer in history could last 12 rounds is like Rogan saying Rousey is once in human history, i.e., ridiculous.

I'd be more impressed if he has subbed more people

Exciting fights. Follow up hammer fists to KO'd guys was always a bit much but that's the sport. Pavlo, Aspinall, or Stipe rematch would have been neat.

But still he will never be considered as the HW GOAT

That's crazy you don't think so?

Imagine doing the run Ngannou did but you will never be seen as the greatest in your division

Maybe the deadliest run who gave the less points in the goat debate

Bums, not boxers.

The HW era Ngannou ran through just doesnt have the same prestige that past eras have had. JDS Cain and Arlovski were beyond faded

The thing is, Ngganou has shown that he is more than just a brawler/ko artist. He has great chin, fights strong even when gassed, worked on his grappling and TDD, and fought through adversity.

It’s kind of disappointing how he is under appreciated for all these positive traits, because ironically, ppl observe he knockouts and write him off as merely a sloppy brawler.

Guys like JDS, Cain Velazquez, and Francis ngganou are some of the best heavyweight fighters in mma history, but they just don’t have enough big wins to stand out historically. But observing their abilities, I really feel they hold up well against most heavyweights in history stylistically.

Miocic was champion. Gane, Rozenstruick, Blaydes are younger than Ngannou and certainly not washed.

Yeah but no one cares about Rozen and Blaydes in the grand scheme of things. In this weak era they havent even got a title shot, much less won any belts.

Gane is probably going to be great, but theres been very little oppurtunity for him to prove it because theres not much talent in that div atm. Gane didnt get to fight DC,Stipe,or even Blaydes and Aspinal,so its just like yeah he's good, but he should beat the guys hes been beating.

Fighters like Shane Carwin don’t win titles in the UFC anymore.

Just like how you don’t see Larry Birds and John Stocktons thriving in the NBA anymore.

Luka says sit your racist dumb ass down.

Great fighter with great knock out power. He gets respect. People respect his hands, they are bombs.

But he never had the complete mma package, so he won't go down as one of the greatest. But still a great fighter, like Shane Carwin who was also a beast.

Say what? Hasn’t Ngannou been very Carwin-like for the majority of his career? I think Carwin would be top 5, no problem. Maybe not champ, but he was only interim champ back in the day.
And today’s NBA which relies so heavily on outside shooting is exactly the type of place Larry Bird would thrive.

That’s pretty cool, he’s dangerous early.
But honestly I’d rather see someone who can find ways to win in 25min.
Franks got one nice DEC over Gane, I hope he’s got more than that.
