Ngannou is officially done

I am pretty sure he can carve out a good career outside the UFC. He was a man of principle and walked away from guaranteed money, props to him.

8 million and he is locked up who knows for how long. Dude chose “freedom” over “slavery” and I respect him for that.
But he can't be forced to fight. He could do that 8 million fight and maybe a couple of other 1-2 million fights and just retire when he feels it's time. Sure he couldn't fight anywhere else but it wouldn't matter since he'd be retired.

He could have send out feelers. He ended dumping his manager and going at it by himself.
The day of UFC 270 he received legal threat by the UFC accusing him of negociating with another party, so I doubt he could have done anything more.
And he didn't really dump his manager, the UFC practically banned his management agency to the point they closed their combat sport division.

He walked away from guaranteed money because he's a moron, not because he's a man of principal. He got greedy, and thought he'd make significantly more in a boxing ring. Now it's finally sinking in that he's screwed. Nobody cares to watch him box, especially now that the general public sees Jones as the Heavyweight king. He's not even a blip on Tyson Fury's radar anymore.
He just didnt want to fight the GOAT Jon Jones, he knew Jon had the better wrestling and would have ragdolled him like Gane.

It matters when all your success stems from you risking your life to follow a dream of becoming a boxing world champion.

There is this persistent misconception that Ngannou wants to box for the paycheck. He is not. He willl go to boxing even if it loses him millions in missing revenue.
Obviously, he will do his best to get paid as well.

So since Ngannou doesn't have a fight booked in a month after UFC negotiations failed, it means he is screwed?

Who the fook is this TS. Dana is that you?

Ngannou is exploring his options. That's what a good businessman does. End of the day, it's about getting what you want. It doesn't matter where he ends up getting it from. People are going to watch. Whether he Boxes Fury, Wilder... goes to Bellator, or Glory...

All the best to the HW King !

After Jones beats stipe and needs another big fight, I'll hold out hope they resign ngannou. He probably won't have fought the whole time. he'll have had time to reconsider and decide it's stupid to throw away the millions when he's almost done with fighting anyways. He doesn't have much time left. he's not a draw. He'll have to swallow his ego behind closed doors and do the smart thing. UFC machine will get back behind him and it'll be the biggest fight the UFC can make.

Francis is a nobody without the UFC, I've always said this but people want to defend this guy's bull headed attitude like he's some freedom fighter. Everything he has is thanks to the UFC, a fighter is nothing without a promotion unless their name is Conor McGregor or Mike Tyson. Find a good manager, let them negotiate a good deal, and shut up, that's the best way for these guys, but of course his ego ran away with him just like Dana said, and he imagined everyone would want a piece of him when it was the backing of the UFC all along that made him a somebody

DONE? Not at all, he's no longer just a "high-money-paid UFC Slave".

Ngannou was just a humble man fighting for health insurance and rights for everyone, it was the message it sends! You can make more money outside the UFC and he showed the UFC they need him more than he needed them!
Pass the crack pipe. They got good guy Jones now to carry the HW division. Francis is a fart in the wind to them.

- the fact that his management is in talks with glory says it all basically. He's trying desperately to set up anything possible after he miscalculated his next career step. Seems and feels like a Bob Sapp farewell tour.

- Frank trusted an mentally unstable, overweight gypsy (no disrespect, I love Fury) to have the opportunity of his life but got played. Fury is for sure not interested in a fight with Ngannou otherwise it would be public already. Fury will fight Joyce next and then Usyk. Guaranteed.

- Wilders is not the money fight he was looking for. Ngannou Wilders would have maximum 50k ppv buys and I am sure not even the arabs are anymore interested in Wilders after he got cucked by Fury.

- Bellator or PFL are not able to afford him. He could have a contract where he's allowed to Box against some cab drivers but that's all.

What other options does he have? Paul Brothers?

I would love to respect Frank for being on some Rosa Park Shit and showing Daner his borders but man, he seems so much like a dishonest and greedy guy. He has so strange vibes.
I still think there's a chance he comes back to UFC to fight Jones. I want to believe Dana, Francis, and Jones are still talking it over behind the scenes.

Lol at Anthony Joshua boxing a total novice for less money than he makes for a tune up.
These morons are so convinced it's feasible and he's guaranteed to make $20 million+ for doing so. In their minds the top HWs who could make more money fighting each other for actual belts should be clamoring to fight Ngannou. <Lmaoo>

The amount of people shilling for the UFC is hilarious.

I don't think that is the case at all here. I think most people here are impartial and just looking at this decision without any bias one way or the other. All I see if Francis supporters criticizing those who say me made a mistake.

I personally have no favoritism either way and I think he more than likely made a mistake. Time will tell depending on where he signs and how things play out. I don't think Francis has a clear path or plan, I think he's looking at many options. People are assuming he's either gotta go to boxing or another mma organization and it's one path. I think the idea was for Francis to be free. He could do a boxing match, perhaps a boxing/mma 1 and 1, then go to kick boxing or another mma organization. He can move around and sort of build his name outside the UFC like that and take the best offers.

The reason why I don't think it was a good decision was a few things. One, Francis is already 36 and will be 37 this summer before any fights materialize. It's not like he's young and has a lot of time left and have a longer career. He can take 2-3 big fights and that will set him up well, but in order for that to happen he will need that mega fight he's been angling for in boxing, and that is a gamble whether it actually happens. Considering inactivity, hasn't fought since Jan 22, and a lack or promotional ability since he can't use his UFC clips, I don't see many boxing promoters going for this mega fight. The appeal was when he was the UFC HW champ and the ability to promote him as such. That appeal is no longer there. Another reason is that any other options he has in mma or kickoxing, just wont pay the money he's looking for and wont have the right exposure for him. If he ends up in One FC or Bellator, is that really a better move than staying in the UFC??

I think he is banking big time on a big boxing fight and I hope it works out for him. But considering the variables, I am not too optimistic it will happen. At that point, you gotta think the deal he had for 3 fights in the UFC to fight Jones, Stipe and Jones again would have been better.

I guess we'll know when we see his next move.

I said it before, I don't think he's going to make more than 8 million fighting any of these boxers like he wants to. And once that one and done payday is gone he's back to making fuck all in low tier orgs. He's 35 doesn't have a vast wealth of boxing knowledge or the time to rack up a 35 - 0 record like the young guys do to be worth anything in boxing.

In MMA he could have made the huge payday against Jones and possibly even been the first man to beat him. His stock would have been huge if he had managed that. And then he has his UFC credentials to garner more big payday in the UFC. And his chances of being a legend would have been great. Now he's just some dude that won the HW title and pissed it away not fighting and stuff.

How did you calculate that $8M number?
