Ngannou is officially done

So since Ngannou doesn't have a fight booked in a month after UFC negotiations failed, it means he is screwed?

Who the fook is this TS. Dana is that you?

Ngannou is exploring his options. That's what a good businessman does. End of the day, it's about getting what you want. It doesn't matter where he ends up getting it from. People are going to watch. Whether he Boxes Fury, Wilder... goes to Bellator, or Glory...

All the best to the HW King !
Ngannou is not a good bussines man thought. Spending significant portion of your salary on watches and jewellery isn't smart. He spent like he was earning one or two more zeroes on each fight payout.

Frank will be a contestant on the next season of Tuf to earn a 6 figure contract with the UFC

I have a hunch:
If boxer tax returns were leaked to the public, we would learn that all parties involved were colluding to inflate numbers.

Basketball hasn't yet found another Michael Jordan.
Boxing hasn't yet found another Mike Tyson.

Free international tv streams are widely available.

I just don't see how boxing promoters are actually able to generate $80 million in revenue to allow them to split $50 million between two headliners.

Extending this idea to all types of fight promotions,
and considering that the excitement is mostly gone in the boxing vs. mma niche,
where is a Ngannou going to go to find a $10 million payday?

If there was real money to be made, promoters and fighters would already be doing the work to make that money.

So.
Which real promotion leaped to snatch up Ngannou and book him in a big fight?

How did you calculate that $8M number?
He said himself that they offered him 8 million to fight Jon Jones on a 3 fight contract on his interview in the Ariel helwani show. That user is assuming that Francis rejected it to find a bigger payday in boxing and thus expects at least something around that number, or that if Francis can't find something that pays him at least 8 million dollars per fight, then he shot himself in the foot by rejecting that contract.

Yeah I'm not sure what exactly Ngannou's strategy was in all of this. I guess we'll only know once he makes his next move.

My 4d chess interpretation was that he knew Jones would duck him so he left to vacate the title, knew that Jones would win, then intended to come back so Jones has no choice but to fight him for the belt. So basically just an elaborate trap to make Jones fight him or look like a total puss if he suddenly retires. I'm hoping this is the case.

8 million and he is locked up who knows for how long. Dude chose “freedom” over “slavery” and I respect him for that.
"Who knows for how long?"
"Forever" is the length. It's probably no longer in UFC contracts, thanks to Randy Couture and all involved in the bravery of going up against the "machine."

Fighters put their health and the future of our lives on the line EVERY FIGHT, yet as "Independent Contractors" can't even make decisions on bettering their future outside the cage. Hell, they can't even make any decision inside the cage on their clothing to make them money the UFC can't steal. I guess being forced what to wear, along with anything else NOT in the UFC's financial gain, is fair.

Francis is not a standalone name or star. Same shit happened with Diaz. Dude thought he was going to accomplish big things by leaving the UFC, but has only faded into irrelevance.

He’s fooked unless he goes the Colin Kaepernick route and hook up a diversity Nike deal

I can't say I am aware of any other organization where the fans of the sport are vehemently behind the organization and higher ups versus the people they actually tune in to watch.

Such a strange phenomenon here.
do you have an opinion on what comes next for francis and whether it'll work out for him relative to other options he had?

Yeah, he definitely misjudged this didn't he. I don't know why he assumed he'd get some big money boxing match, nobody outside of MMA fans know who he is.
He gambled and the jury is still out on this
Who knows. Time will tell

Why are some people so invested in seeing this guy fail just because he turned down a deal with the UFC?

None of us know how this will play out for Francis yet, or what success looks like in his eyes.

Dude is a millionaire world champion fighter despite growing up in terrible poverty and working in a mine from 10 years old - he's already won.

Francis vs Anthony Joshua is bigger than any fight the UFC could ever hope to make

That isn't the question, is Francis vs Anthony Joshua bigger than any fight BOXING could ever hope to make for Anthony Joshua.... the answer is a resounding NO. a trilogy with Ruiz would sell more than Francis...

Jones sat out for like 3 yrs over pay & the terms of his contract, yet we have Dana nut huggers saying Francis was/is scared, etc. So what was Jones doing for 3 yrs then? Keep the same energy. During those 3 yrs some of these same Dana nut huggers were saying Jones was scared, but since he finally came back after 3 yrs, now they turn on Francis as scared. Just funny & laughable that Dana has more fans/apologists than any MMA fighter

Because he barely fights while holding up the division

The wheel's still spinning and the hamster's still breathing.

Francis took a gamble and it's not over yet. IMO Fury is a fickle man and a bit of a bastard but who knows.

Worst case scenario, Francis can always sell one of his watches- if they're real- and live a quiet country life in his native country.

- the fact that his management is in talks with glory says it all basically. He's trying desperately to set up anything possible after he miscalculated his next career step. Seems and feels like a Bob Sapp farewell tour.

- Frank trusted an mentally unstable, overweight gypsy (no disrespect, I love Fury) to have the opportunity of his life but got played. Fury is for sure not interested in a fight with Ngannou otherwise it would be public already. Fury will fight Joyce next and then Usyk. Guaranteed.

- Wilders is not the money fight he was looking for. Ngannou Wilders would have maximum 50k ppv buys and I am sure not even the arabs are anymore interested in Wilders after he got cucked by Fury.

- Bellator or PFL are not able to afford him. He could have a contract where he's allowed to Box against some cab drivers but that's all.

What other options does he have? Paul Brothers?

I would love to respect Frank for being on some Rosa Park Shit and showing Daner his borders but man, he seems so much like a dishonest and greedy guy. He has so strange vibes.
I agree with everything you said but particularly love the fact that you said “Danar” love it love it love it
