Ngannou is NOT Derek Lewis

Shertards are clueless idiots, the other day I had the same conversation with a mod and he would cling on to one fight: The Rozenstruik KO as his example that Ngannou is just a windmilling crude fighter. Ignoring the rest of his career.

Lewis has a talent for setting up a KO punch and is good at finishing but other than that, he is the worst technical HW in years despite his success. Ngannou is light years ahead in combinations, counter punching, footwork, angles and everything else.

It comes from the fact that Gane is better at every single technical aspect of fighting. He has one of the highest strikes absorbed vs landed in any division. He might not dismantle Francis as he did with Lewis, but imo the most likely outcome is Gane by decision. It's a Fury vs Wilder type deal.

People just hate on Beast because of his physique and people somehow believe that Ngannou's physique somehow translates into skills. FFS you'd think people that are this much info MMA would understand how a person looks has very little to do with how a person fights.

Ngannou has significantly better technical striking than Lewis, and is far faster and more durable. I don't think we've even seen him rocked, and he crossed the cage in a heartbeat to take out Roz.

Gane is going to have to fight an absolutely perfect game for at least 3 rounds, but more likely 5 as ngannou has never been stopped.

As an aside to that, Cyril is an awesome kickboxer for a HW, but his defense is based on his footwork and reach. He keeps his hands low and doesn't move his head much, and that seems like a bad recipe against Ngannou.

All in all, cyril definitely has a solid chance at winning, but writing off Ngannou is absolute insanity.

Francis was rocked/staggered by Stipe immediately before he knocked him out.

Very funny. Lewis is actually one of the worst HW's I've ever seen enjoy success, and the only reason his bait N KO tactic has worked is because all the great HW's of the 2010's were past their best once he peaked.

Ngannou has already shown a wider arsenal of offense. He understands distance, can counter punch, can knock you out from long range but also with short hooks when you're coming in. That right hand-left straight combo he first knocked down Stipe with also way more advanced than anything Lewis has ever done.

Lewis is good at one thing: baiting opponents in with a right hand. The most basic and overrated HW of the decade.

What exactly is it that Gane has done in the UFC that would make anyone other than Don'Tale Mayes think that Gane's a takedown threat? Gane's near complete lack of takedown ability severely limits his viable strategies against Ngannou, as Gane gets destroyed if he can't maintain distance. This is something Gane boosters seem to generally be overlooking.

Gane wins this fight if he's fast and accurate enough for a full-five rounds to keep touching up Ngannou from the outside while avoiding Ngannou's superior reach. Gane has better speed than Ngannou, but he's also much more reliant on his speed and more susceptible than Ngannou to being KO'd as speed wanes over five rounds.

Ngannou by KO in round 3 or 4, round 1 if Gane actually tries for takedowns.
