Ngannou extremely difficult to work with?

He just has the wrong people in his ear and the wrong people around him IMO. He should've stuck with his old camp.

Frank Shamrock, off the top of my head.
Mark Hunt, Wanderlei, perhaps BJ Penn?
Hunt and Wanderlei got screwed heavily by the UFC. UFC held their contracts for years. Frank was pre Zuffa.
Guys like BJ, Bustamente and Pulver’s situation are different. They were champions when Zuffa just bought the company. UFC was not really the top dog and couldn’t compete with Japanese pay. Those guys didn’t get screwed by the UFC because they weren’t under contracts and just didn’t resign with them.

Sure, if you conveniently omit the UFC offering no fight during the DC-Stipe trilogy.
huh... is this a fact? I thought Francis didn't want to fight while the trilogy happened because he wanted a title shot.

His first coach, who picked him up from the streets of Paris, is done with him
His manager, who went to bat for him against the UFC, is done with him
The UFC is done with him

When you run into an asshole, you run into an asshole. When you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.

People are too broke to afford him . He’s the most expensive fighter in the world

I'm shocked the guy who was a sand mine worker before fighting isn't a finance and business expert.

Yeah, he just doesn't get that money has to come from somewhere and contracts have to be mutually beneficial, and pays no attention to any expenses for events. Scott Coker, BKFC guy and that Russian promoter have all said he's demanding too much, and I doubt he would even accept what any of the boxers would offer him, because he'd be waaay on the B side of any of those.

Francis needed like 2 defenses to get exactly where he needed to be, but spent the time bitching instead. Seeya title fight money, seeya boxing copromotion, seeya Jones superfight (where is reign probably would've ended).

The UFC are cunty negotiators and assholes as well, so when you get both of these kinds of ego's in a room it must be unbearable.

Sucks for the fans.

He was begging to fight anyone in 2020. The only fight they offered was Volkov in moscow on 12 days notice to replace Overeem. Ultimately Rozenstruik called him out, so he got one 1 figjt that year. Then he had to wait for Stipe to be ready to defend.

He comes across as a simple guy who is being led astray by his "advisors".

I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up broke 5 years after retiring. Or finds out he has had large chunks of his wealth stolen from him by his inner circle.

The UFC made ghe most useless interim title 5 month. Then he defended against Gane.
And after that he was injured and his contract ran out at the end of 2022.

Defending twice would have meant taking a big risk with his knee recovery by fighting in 2022. Or getting locked 5 more years with the UFC.

I don't know but he probably has an ego, which I am sure many fighters do, however you need people around you giving you the truth and guiding you, and the fact we found out recently that he has been trying to negotiate with BKFC tells me he has not thought this through at all and hasn't been guided well by people close.

Lots of fighter aren't business or finance savy but they don't have a over-inflated ego and take what they can get.

Ngannou looked pretty happy when watching Adesanya knock out Poatan. He looked good actually.

Do you think Ngannou might be extremely difficult to work with?

It seems he keeps getting on everyone’s bad side. He got into with his former coach and after his coach tried to bury the hatchet, by saying they should be civil, Francis goes and cuss his former coach out.

“"What the f*** is that? Father to who? Screw him. I don't play that game. I know exactly what he's planning, he's not a son of s***. He's nothing,"

Then, Ngannou gets into with Dana with his demands on contract negotiations, then eventually, he fired his manager or his manager quits, I don’t think it’s ever explained how Ngannou ended up representing himself.

And now Dana is saying how he doesn’t want Ngannou back in the UFC.

Anyone think that Ngannou behind the scenes might be extremely difficult to work with? He’s lost his former coach, his former manager and his former boss.

At some point you’d think the common link in all of these falling outs is Big Frank. I think when he cussed out his coach, it revealed a dark true side of Francis.

Yeah anyone beefing with two stand-up dudes like Dana White and Fernand Lopez is "difficult to work with". I mean these men are beacons of integrity

Yes I think he is, when it comes to money and business.

Maybe. But what I'm sure of is that his beef with Dana cannot only be his fault. I've been watching MMA for close to 15 years I think and I've seen Dana having beef with fighters or other guys so many times, this guy's got some major problems with others too.

He's a guy that's had to roll the dice constantly to get to where he is. So far it's paid off, but his recent decision seems to be a mistake.

He wants to be surrounded by yes men and dick riders instead of people who will actually take care of his career. He'll be going broke sooner than later if he stays on this path.
