Ngannou claims he knocked down Gane in sparring

Ngannou is the HW champion and you've got to respect that. But I think its a huge advantage for Gane that he's familiar with him compared to someone not probably sure exactly what he's getting into like Rozenstruik probably did not.

Does it matter for Gane, maybe it has no difference on the outcome.

Ciryl Gane is so much more likeable than Ngannou. He's a chilled dude, making his way.

Nganou's arrogance might well bite him in the ass in this fight. OR if Ngannou wins...it will bite him at some point in a future fight. He's been drinking a bit too much of his own Kool-Aid it seems to me, developing a bit of a God-complex.
The problem is Gane's coach thinking he is Lady Gaga or sumthing

Random Q: why is this fight in Anaheim? Seems like a weird place. Should be in a bigger city.

What you catch him with?

Loop choke while he was in the process of passing my guard

So like, the biggest gap of skills from his mma jiu jitsu grappling to pure in a gi Bjj, and I was probably being a meathead to get the tap because I wanted to be able to say I subbed Pettis lol

Gane fights boring and cowardly and runs away like he did against Lewis. However, Ngannou is too fast, quick, agile, and accurate for Gane’s cowardly antics to work. Ngannou will starch Gane. Mark my words.

I’m sure both of those monsters clipped each other from time to time

I subbed Anthony Pettis in the gi once. Doesn’t mean shit.
Hey I was there, it was at the airport dojo right ?

Francis is throwing the fight so he can be free.

a win and he’s never going to be a free agent

Yeah Gane is a really cool guy, very laid back and down to earth.. he always has a smile on his face, he would be a great HW champ. Respect.

I'm not surprised, but don't really put much stock into whatever happened in sparring.

They'll fight next week and we will know then.

This. There are guys i demo in sparring that would ether me if we went at it for real, and vice versa. Sparring is a learning tool. The real scrap is all that matters.

Looking forward to this bout, calling ngannou.

Hey I was there, it was at the airport dojo right ?

I lived in Milwaukee for a summer and trained at Roufus. Anthony was really cool and would roll with even just the evening class jiu jitsu guys after the technique time, didn’t keep himself strictly to training only with fellow pros

I never understood why the fighters feel the need to share and the fans cared so much about sparring stories.

A reenactment of the footage:

spinning dim mak, no defense....<LynchWink>

Sparring dont mean jack. Ive had guys dump me in sparring that'd id bury in full fight. Lots of times guys will try out MT sweeps and if your just light sparring you dont really care if you go down. I mean Khabib could say he dumped Cormier in sparring if he wanted when they were clearly light wrestling.

Cormier was saying something different last year, he was talking about two former sparring partners who were about to fight (can't remember who). He said they would both know who was going to win the fight and this is nearly always the case.
As if upsets never happen all the time. I wouldn't even consider it to be an upset if either won, they both have a very clear path to victory, and I highly doubt it "would always be the case" that one in particular would win. DC is full of shit here.
