Ngannou claims he knocked down Gane in sparring

Sparring stories dont really matter. Training partners get the better of each other all the time. Even when one is a way better fighter.

Cormier was saying something different last year, he was talking about two former sparring partners who were about to fight (can't remember who). He said they would both know who was going to win the fight and this is nearly always the case.

He even brought up he and Cain, he said that Cain would have beaten him if they fought no question.

Interesting. Goes to show how cherrypicking and analysing sparring footage is pretty useless.

Your last sentence has incorrect phrasing. It should be "Goes to show how analyzing cherrypicked sparring footage is pretty useless."

No offense, but all of this is of no value. Gane admits the footage was cherry picked to make him look good. If they've both knocked each other down during sparring, it means nothing at all. Is normal.

Technically, he doesn't claim he was the one to knock him down.

Lopez also claims there is a video of Gane knocking down Ngannou with a knee to the liver. Wouldn't be suprized if it comes out during fight week.
That's something he would've released by now if he had it. He's been trying to show Gane in the best light possible during the sparring sessions, if Gane stopped Ngannou I think he would've put that out already. Lopez seems that bitter over Ngannou and something like that would've been released by now.

Garbrandt knocked TJ down in sparring too.

Didnt mean much, and this is similar.
He did knock him down again at the end of the 1st. If that happened earlier in the round the fight could've ended differently. Just bad luck of the draw for Garbrandth in the first fight. Plus no real improvements going into the 2nd fight so it was the same outcome.

Ciryl Gane is so much more likeable than Ngannou. He's a chilled dude, making his way.

Nganou's arrogance might well bite him in the ass in this fight. OR if Ngannou wins...it will bite him at some point in a future fight. He's been drinking a bit too much of his own Kool-Aid it seems to me, developing a bit of a God-complex.
People always feel like this towards confident fighters. Seems like they want fighters not confident in their abilities and questioning themselves and the outcomes of fights or something instead. Finishers have confidence in their finish ability, it's nothing new. They have that confidence for a reason, because they know they can finish fights. People confuse confidence for arrogance all the time. If you put in the work, you're confident in your abilities. If you don't, you aren't. Some are just more honest about it while others play small so they can try and have others like them and not be viewed a certain way. Others just don't like that certain people can do certain things or have certain things so that's the reason they don't like it. It's the same when it comes to money. People rather you not talk about it like Conor's case because they also want that money and is upset that he has it and not them. It's simple psychology for the most part. Ngannou doesn't even say or do anything crazy for you to think he has a God complex lol. Thinking that actually says more about you than him. You may be blaming genetics or the so called "God given gifts" like others do as well.

Care to elaborate on the God-complex with Ngannou?

All real fighters from all combat sports know this. It's the forum posters that don't understand this.

That isnt what i was saying. Im saying when someone says fighter A got the better of fighter B in sparring before, doesnt mean anything.

If it was like oh fighter A thrashed fighter B all the time and always out classed him that would be different. Yes the two fighters who sparred a lot would know who the better one is if one always or mostly did way better. It also makes a big difference on where in the careers they were sparring. So it doesnt always mean anything either way.

All Ngannou needs is one good connection, I don't think the same can be said for Gane.

A reenactment of the footage:

Pulling a Genki Sudo here.

ngannou seems really emotional about this sparring yet gane barely mentioned it

Sparring and training is just that..

Sometimes it mattered like with Tito and Chuck
And then with Rashad and Jones it did NOT..

Man Francis Ngannou looks very Very Very insecure here, Gane is better in every way of fighting.

Francis has only brute strength and that's it, but Gane has shown against Lewis that it doesn't work against him.

Gane never lost, very skillful, perfect defense, beautiful Muay Thai, a young stud he is not grandpa Miocic.

Francis knows he's going to be exposed and Gane will destroy him.
