I would have liked to retain Cook but I didnt even consider this option, definitely an upgrade. Still need some defense help but its good to actually see outside talent being brought in for once

Yes, it's practically an upgrade. Especially when you consider Bennett is going to get 18.45 Million over 3 years, which from what I've read is less than what Cook was asking for.

To be fair he shared starting duties with Austin Howard and Howard is not that great. He is overpaid too.

And again he is not a starter and you'll soon find that out with the Broncos. He is serviceable player in a Tackle-starved league and worth bringing back in his current role at a reasonable price suited to his role. The Broncos, due to their recent troubles at this position, are desperate in this tackle-starved league that overpaid for a rotational player like Watson.

And yes you are right, I'm acting like this is a 5 yr, $50M deal because of the future cap situation for the Raiders. Carr, Jackson and eventually Mack and Cooper are going to get monster deals that'll eat up the cap so cost effective, sensible signings are important.

Pats narrative coming into Free Agency is they weren't paying anybody and as long as they had Brady they would be in the AFC Championship game no matter what (which is true). Glad they are loading up and think they really want that undefeated season more then anything. Its the only thing they haven't done.
