Feeling a little more hopeful. If the young doctor on youtube is right and it's commotio cordis, the survival rate tends to depend on how quickly the person receives CPR and it seems like Hamlin got it almost immediately.

Those paramedics were moving fast at a point, that's is when it got real. I'm hopeful but man that hit coupled with him abruptly standing up to collapsing didn't look good.

look up the chris pronger clip it looked very similar and with quick medical help he was ok, it maybe just me wishful thinking but lets hope

I mean, the Jovan Belcher thing happened and KC played the next day.

That was really fucked up and you notice how nothing much was discussed. It's like it never happened. The NFL has a lot of power to make that go away.

The link I posted is clearly a serious and alarming article. But the conclusion is what is giving me hope.

Conclusions: Survival from commotio cordis has increased, likely owing to more rapid response times and access to defibrillation, as well as greater public awareness of this condition.

Listening to people comment who don't know the sport right now.

Hopefully him being a pro athlete helps him pull through this. That and getting the best care possible and immediate life-saving measures. Coding is never good but it's not insurmountable. He's intubated because when your heart stops your other organs stop functioning also and require assistance while they reboot.

I hate the media side of this. 60% of the discussion is what should be discussed, the condition of Damar. The other 40% is the controversial crap about whether or not to postpone the game, cancel the game, who makes the decision to cancel or postpone the game? Just annoying. It's the Damar Hamlin show right now. Let's talk about the game when he wakes up.
