Steelers should hire Pete Carmichael now that he's fired

Really?
  • His teams constantly come out slow or straight up lose to bad teams (see the back to back losses to 2 win teams this year)
  • Constant drama from WRs, players quitting on plays
  • Defense getting smoked when it matters, the last 4 playoff games they have given up over 31 points, 40+ in 3 of them
  • You mentioned his coordinators, he has zero coaching tree despite being the longest tenured coach.
  • Bad clock management, end of the 1st half of yesterdays game is a good example. Their punter is hurt and you have all your timeouts with them being backed up after a sack and you let them run the clock out.
  • No playoff wins in 7 years, only 3 in the last 15 years with one of those being a gift from pacman jones and vontaze burfict

Tomlin was gifted a HOF QB and a stacked defense which gave him early success and has done fuck all since then. He is extremely overrated by everyone and he hit his expiration date here years ago.

It was really fucking cold yesterday though so I can't blame him for wanting to cut the shit and get indoors for a little bit. Also, he knew the punter faked the injury because he didn't want to get blowed up trying to make a tackle.

Classic, anyone that criticizes Tomlin must be a racist. That stat is the dumbest thing ever. What exactly does barely finishing over .500 get you? You know what it's gotten the Steelers? Making the wild card round every now and again and promptly getting stomped in the first round. People act like finishing over .500 means anything without ever watching the games. So many of those seasons ended with collapses. But hey, as long as that streak keeps going that's all that matters. Maybe they should start raising banners for over .500 seasons while we are at it.

Also forgot to add, the Steelers are in the midst of their worse run of playoff success in the Super Bowl era. But hey, NO LOSING SEASONS.

You have no idea how difficult it is to be that successful with that little talent. They end in collapses because the Steelers rarely have high end talent at multiple positions and zero depth.

Little talent? Please, lets not act like he's been getting by with bums. He's had elite talent on both sides of the ball and under delivered. I can understand that excuse for the last few seasons but he's had more than enough to have some playoff success. He had a HOF QB for the majority of his coaching tenure and had plenty of talent from the likes of Antonio Brown, Leveon Bell, TJ Watt, etc etc. After SB loss to Green Bay in the 2010/2011 season they have 3 playoff wins.

What other coach gets the benefit of the doubt like Tomlin? Bill Bellichick, the guy that has owned Tomlin and has 6 Super Bowls, has gotten more heat and fired before Tomlin. If people treated all head coaches in the NFL like they do Tomlin there would never be any coaches fired.

He's never had a good offensive line his his entire tenure as HC. He got the corpse of Big Ben for like 7 of thos years. AB was injured for the majority of his tenure and LeVeon was awesome, but imagine if he had an offensive line in front of him.

What other coach wins like Tomlin? If Tomlin had a competent GM drafting consistency they'd have more than 3 playoff wins, which btw, is 3 more wins than the majority of the NFL.

I remember telling my ex-inlaws (steeler fans) how he was overrated years ago and damn near got shunned then....probably never forgave me and is why I'm shunned now.
