But then who will replace him at QB? I highly doubt that he signs a deal with them way under market value, when many teams would line up to even overpay him. I'm not an expert on their cap, though, they might have the space.
Could possibly trade up for Ewers

Or just sign Justin Fields. Shanny will probably kill Fields in 8 games but he could go nuclear.

At some point it will fuck you up, though, especially when you restructure/extend players who then fall off. Or if you do it while not even being close to a contender, like the Saints lmao.
Not if youre willing to pay massive chunks of cash up front. Not many owners are willing to do that.

I think they trade quite a few guys in the offseason that got paid and keep Purdy. Sure, Purdy is not the best QB but they won't be able to draft high enough to get a decent QB. Plus, they need some new life on offense and a reconstruction on defense.

Not if you pay players that don’t suck a few years after signing them enabling you to restructure.

This. Lenoir is a fine player, but the Chiefs had to let Gay walk and trade Sneed to pay Jones. How can these guys afford to pay Deebo, and Aiyuk, and McCaffery, and Williams, and Bosa, and Kittle, and Warner, and now Lenoir, etc.

It helps that their QB makes like $1mil. Look at the Cowboys paying Dak $60 mil, not a lot left to go around.

But ya, at some point you gotta pay Purdy. Maybe he'll give them the Baker Mayfield deal? Who knows. Would you rather make $35mil and be a contender every year and hopefully be around for 10 years.....or make $60 mil, play on a crappy team, and wash out of the league in 4 years? I get both sides.

This is what Indianapolis gets for ruining Andrew Luck.

This. I still can't believe how messed up that was. The dude was a true generational talent (not one of these guys we hear about every year being generational....this guy was truly the man)......then they do nothing to protect him at all. It's maddening.

JaAnthony is back. Can’t wait for him to start a game 2/20 passing again and have some cans to still compare him to goat allen.

I mean, they have similar numbers through their first 10 games.

Allen - 12 games, 10 TDs, 12 INTs - 53% completion - 631 rushing yards - 8 TDs
Richardson - 10 games, 7 TDs, 8 INTs - 52ish% completion - 378 rushing - 5 TDs

Not exactly the same but in the ballpark. However, the eye test where I tend to go. You saw how good Allen could be. With Richardson it just looks like a great athlete who happens to be the QB of a team. Doesn't look like a QB at all.

Exactly. People are just posting stats with no context. They did the same thing comparing Bryce young to Peyton manning last year lmao. You can clearly see that Allen had potential while JaAnthony just sucks, same way he sucked at Florida.
