That is nonsense. Tariffs in narrow circumstances are completely stupid and counterproductive. Applying tariffs on imports from China or any narrow circumstance will just shift that business to other third world, human rights abusers.

The only way it works for the intended purpose is as part of a greater plan including broader tariffs and domestic incentives as Trump has done and is already working again. Tariffs are not Trump's goal, they are the threat intended to initiate serious negotiation to improve trade balance and it works.

I don't care about importing products from third world countries, the issue is specifically products that are being subsidized by their home country and thus giving them an unfair competitive advantage. Allowing Americans access to cheap goods from third world countries is generally good so long as there isn't obvious unfairness in the form of subsidies on the other end.

These Tesla R&D projects have been going on for nearly a decade with limited to no real world application. When it comes to self driving and machine learning theyve been surpassed by others. Their robots are theatrical fabrications of actual ability.
