I hope this doesn't get wastelanded, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. However, I though only my fellow sherdoggers would appreciate it.

My son - our first child was born today. He was 28 days early, but born completely healthy, albeit pissed off and pretty scared.

I'm a lifelong martial artist, amateur fighter, competitor, and lover of MMA. As my son lie there, afraid, trembling and screaming his head off, I knew I had to say something to comfort him. It was that moment, even though I never root for the Diaz brothers, that my inner sherdog troll came out.

I leaned down, our eyes met and I said the first thing that came to my mind.

"Dont be scared, homie."

Happy new year, Sherdog.

Yeah. This is gonna get wastelanded.

Grats on your child though.

Cool story even if lie. Congrats. Good Dad's seem so rare. Good luck.

If you read books, you could have quoted some Chaucer instead of Nick Diaz.

Congrats! It's a blessing to start the year :D

TS said that he was a martial artist, so the only books he reads are on periodisation, and quoting Nick Diaz beats quoting Louie Simmons.

Anyway, congrats on the kid TS.

Congratulations. Wish you all the best.

I hope it wasnt Dave Sholler between you when he responded to your callout.

Don't get it. What's he supposed to be scared of. The cat??

Congratulations bro! Even though the little guy was born premature its still a blessing to start the year.

Christ, this thread just took a dark turn.
