Law New York Ends Religious Exemptions for Vaccination

It's weird how many hoops you have to jump through to be left alone and free to do with your body what you want in the land of the free.

I cant believe you of all people is going to eat up that lie about this being a free country.

Same.

My immunization expired when I was in high school. I was given a reasonable time table to get it rectified or I would not be welcome back into the school. Not dragged off to a government medical facility and forcefully pumped full of drugs.

"pumped full of drugs." lol

are they drugs?

maybe you should do even the most basic of research on them before you have an opinion.

Dead or weakened forms of viruses. It was an oversimplification to make a point. Happy?

The bigger problem is too many people refuse to question it. It leads to folks like yourself being constantly confounded and in a constant state of angst because you dont understand how people can reject some of these mainstream theories. You just can't make sense of it because your premise is flawed.

you're such an amazing critical thinker.

id guess you question vaccines but eat fast food fairly regularly? maybe im wrong. if it werent for jenny mccarthy and memes that no one knows where they came from, few would question the need for vaccines.

right.

whatever genes influence a person to be an anti-vaxer; do you feel they'll be more or less common 100 years from now?
Sometimes I wonder if it's a natural form of population control.

But in all honesty I think it's a sign of how well we have things in the west. If this were a century ago people would be trampling each other to get at the vaccines. We are so far removed from real viral threats that now we question the validity of that which makes us safe. Hell, people even preach that HIV is perfectly fine to live with.

I don't know.

:( If that's the case there truly is no need for masculinity. We have completely failed as men.
Strong men make for good times. Good times make for weak men. Weak men make for bad times. Bad times make for strong men.

The need will return.

I dunno man, i met a lot of "weak men" from older generations. Treating everyone like shit and beating your kids doesnt make a man strong.

yea its so strange to think about. what would be viewed as absolute miracles 100 years ago are now questioned. i try not to be a dick about it, though.

I agree. Weak men also give away their rights, as well as the rights of every generation after them. So strong men better stop being scared and start speaking up.

I think you mistook this lost as a poster that is an anti-vaxxer.... pretty sure he was being tongue in cheek with that line

"Anti-vaxxer" is a cheap lazy ass term. I bet youd call me an anti vaxxer because of my posts in here.

What recognized religions have doctrines forbidding vaccination? Its like citing a religious exemption for public sanitation. No your religion does not require you to shit in the street.

I just hope the language in this bill is not fuzzy or too broad. While I don't believe that people have a religious right to create a clear public health hazard or to place others in danger I want the minimum government impingement on religion and other areas covered by the first amendment. As a religious man myself and someone who is generally suspicious of high concentrations of power and limits on liberty I know that these things can be twisted to punish views that are out of favor.

I was required to be vaccinated in the 90s to go to school. THERE WAS NO EXEMPTION THAT MY PARENTS KNEW OF BACK THEN... why did all this shit suddenly start popping up in the last 5 years.

there's always a good portion of the population that is just outright stupid. people easily swayed and duped and gullible. but now we also have a rise in decadence and narcissism and the internet gives these morons a profound and over inflated sense of self worth and intellectual value. they can watch some youtube video and call that "research" and come up with ridiculous conclusions with no basis in fact.

i mean, look at the trolling in this thread. it's very clear it is not "forced vaccination" and rather than converse or engage in a dialogue, the trolling is just repeating the same stupid shit. either they do it on purpose because they are paid trolls (which is a newer phenomenon to stir up controversy and break apart civil discord) or they are just so full of themselves that it's the only thing they can turn to in order to maintain their perspective.

it's a common behavioral trend among all conspiracy theorists. 9/11 was thoroughly debunked multiple times, yet we can still get a 50 page thread now of people repeating the same stupid shit. flat earthers are a newer thing despite the fact that a very clear lack of education and critical thinking is being buried for the sake of a "crusade." it's all a conspiracy theorist really is - some poor fuck with nothing going on in their lives feeling like they are a hero in a world that is otherwise blind to major villains.

but vaccination conspiracies are the worst of the worst because now it is affecting our very health as a society. but in a free society, you cannot "force" a vaccination, it must be an option. but the entire point of freedom in america is the balance between public and private affairs. the bill of rights themselves orbit around this very distinction and rights differ greatly depending on which realm you are in. and in general, you have far more privacy rights in your own home and life than you do in public.

so states just need to be very forceful and unapologetic about this. if you want to engage in the public realm and use public services like schools, you need to be vaccinated. i think it needs to be a requirement for anything where gobs of people congregate in public. if you use public transportation, airports, even walking crowded streets in cities. we've become so arrogant to think we've conquered this planet, but illness is still one of our greatest threats and can cause widespread destruction with no way of stopping it. vaccinations have been our most valuable weapon in combating dangerous diseases, and for this to even be a problem because of idiots is something society really can't bend over backwards for.

either get your vaccinations or fucking stay home. fucking idiots.

some posts I've made could be taken as anti-vaxxer. If you applied my personal thoughts on flu vaccines to vaccines as a whole that is.
