New Broadcasting deal.

hopefully free over the air waves TV.. no internet or tv subscription even required... but also has a free stream on something like youtube and or rumble etc too since 99% of people will get just static snow if they try to pick up over the airwaves tv in their area

Crazy how they finessed 1.5 billion out of ESPN to end up giving them Apex fight nights.

Netflix already wised up and backed out.

If they can't a good deal or get a much smaller one, I wonder if Dana's out?
We will know soon enough. My guess is if they end up sticking with ESPN, then most likely is going to be a new contract with the UFC getting less then 1.5 billion. Or ESPN getting more content rights or more "star" packed PPV's, and less Fight nights.

One of the deals that they want is for the Saudis to pay for the bulk of the next media deal. So Netflix or Prime pay for one-third of the deal. And the Saudis pick up the rest in exchange for a piece of TKO. And all UFC events go to a single platform for the next decade.

I would be shocked if the UFC got even close to $1 billion per year without some secondary investment into its next media contract. I would also not be surprised if the UFC goes to a network like DAZN instead of Netflix, ESPN, or HBO.

Bruh, it isnt 1960, lol.

This. Dana has said numerous times, being on ESPN was the goal. The tangible marker of social acceptance. It seems like a step back to go anywhere else unless someone greatly over pays.

What kind of deal will ESPN offer though? technically, anything less than the 1.5 billion they got last time would be seen as embarrassing for the company.

Whenever the big time leagues Dana likes to compare the UFC to, NFL, NBA sign new broadcast deals, the new deals are always much bigger then the ones they previously signed.

I can't imagine ESPN looking at the current state of the UFC and thinking they deserve a bigger deal.

Hopefully it leads to the end of this Apex era. I absolutely hated this era in MMA.

@HI SCOTT NEWMAN :rolleyes:
Totally agree with you. UFC Apex is awful, its totally flat, zero atmosphere, zero energy, zero buzz and most important no excitement. MMA is a high energy sport, it needs real humans there. Its just fights for fight sake at Apex, it has no meaning. All in all its a shame, never thought we would see UFC like this.

I can't even console you when Apex is on, you no show in playbyplay :P

Not sure.

But what I know is that Jon Jones has said "Pereira or retirement". If the UFC doesn't secure a new broadcasting contract by August or September, I predict a 100% chance that Dana White makes Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira, to squeeze one more big PPV out of those guys & pump up the 2025 PPV numbers.

That is a great question and I am not for sure. Dana is good at spin, or at the very least, does not have in any shame in spreading his bs. I could see them doing a slightly smaller deal but with options for some events on other streaming services and he makes it out like he is spreading / expanding their reach.

Ari and Shapiro will negotiate the deal with Campbell assisting. Dana is basically a glorified figurehead at this point. The UFC will 100% not get a smaller deal than the original one they had with ESPN. At the least, they'll split their properties up and get a 40% increase per annum. They're angling for a billion per. I doubt they get it, but at the very least $500 million per seems likely. The NBA just got $76 billion last year. The UFC will get at least $2.5.

Yes, the sport needs stars. But that is their problem. My focus is on watching good fighters. If you need storyline and charisma, wwe is on a diff channel ;)

It helps sure, but not needed for my enjoyment if the fighters are skilled.
Its hilarious you think i would watch wwe, when you just quoted me saying i am not paying to see nobodys hug each other.

‘What the hell!’ UFC fans shocked after WWE NXT transforms Apex into decent venue

It would be cool if all the fight nights were taken on the road. If they insist on using the Apex, it would be cool if they could do what WWE did with it.

They do dropkicks there too

i think they need to develop the infrastructure to completely own their broadcast of UFC, whether it be through youtube, netflix, whatever distribution but they need to own it. have the servers. make the app. charge 20 bucks a month. all PPVs. go back to smaller cards. cut literally 60% of the roster. find unique warriors that want to throwdown and not hide behind pitter patter only to fight in the last 10 seconds. shit like that, these dumbfucks.

Don't forget that move where they grab the other guy from the crotch, put their head between their crotch and drive them into the ground. I blieve that is called a pile driver? I mean, that doesn't sound homosexual at all, lol.

It does not sound homosexual because it isn't. If you want to win, kill your opponent with a wicked sick move. Corpses don't win matches.
