Never thought I'd see Pettis dominated on the feet like this for 3 rounds

Pettis getting pressured and grappled is one thing, but Barboza surgically picked him apart.

Kind of reminded me of Machida vs Mousasi, but with more damage in tonight's fight.

You can't dominate someone without rocking them or knocking them down.

I'm a barboza fan, but you let joe rogan get in your head too much.

I wasn't surprised, I knew it. called it. Pettis is average at everything except kicks, his kicks are good, the rest of his game is not amazing.

If you take someone down and armbar them immediately in 10 seconds is that not domination? Not by your definition.

Anyways Barbosa won that fight easily. Idk about domination but it was a clear victory that wasn't close.

Strongly disagree. But hey, we all have our own stupid criteria for what constitutes domination in the cage.

First Holm, Henderson and now Pettis. I don't want to live anymore!

Domination is when the other fighter doesn't put up a significant threat, ever.

Can't believe how slow Anthony's hands are, that's what really shocked me.

That point is entirely irrelevant to a fight that literally spent all 15 minutes on their feet.

IMO Edson won all three rounds 10-9, but at no point was the fight close to being finished, so, at least to me, that's not a domination.

Only Cerrone left.

Pettis might be done. He bought into his hype. Was a better fighter before.

Pettis is a great finisher, but unfortunately he seems to be uniquely bad at winning rounds. Most had him winning at least a round against Alvarez, but apart from that he has not won a round in a fight (excluding rounds in which he got the finish) since Jeremy Stephens in 2011. And even that went to a split decision. He spends way too much time just doing nothing and lets his opponent dictate the pace and location of the fight for the most part. It's just not a recipe for winning consistently at the top level in MMA, especially at lightweight.

I somewhat agre . But if we go back a few years, he was speciel compared to everyone else. But that's what happnens. One day you're unique and fast, lighting people up. Next day you're a little slower, other people come in with sick striking and the game moves forward.

I didn't see the fight going like that at all. Pettis isn't the same.. He couldn't get anything going really

It's all my fault I have a curse that fighters who I root for lose I sedated to hate Pettis until he finished Gilbert then I said he would KO RDA then said the same about Alvarez then Barbosa

Good, Pettis is a good talent but was a massively overrated champion.

Styles makes fights. Barboza was too damn good to not match up well with at least some of the top guys. And I had a feeling Barboza matched up well with w/ Pettis. His chin is his kryptonite but Pettis strength is his leg kicks, striking power (Pettis) not so much. And Barboza's kicking game is even more lethal than Pettis. That leaves Pettis outmatched.

Happy for the guy.

Why does every champ get anointed as the greatest just to see them come back down to Earth?

With the exception of Bones/MM/maybe Cruz, teh rest will eventually meet their match.
