Never thought I would say this but

Conor still is the ufc and will be a force once he returns. Conor is bigger than the sport of mma
No, no, no... and no. Nobody beats father time ,he will win and lose fights but that aura of invincibility ( if he had any at one point) is long gone. Last but not least , no fighter is bigger than the sport. Not even the goats are...and McGregor is far from goat status.

It's quite a staintment to make. He had some impressive wins with predictions.

His personal life is one thing, but his ability to talk and back it up was amazing.

Talks makes fights, but eeveryone losses, it's what you do with winning streak that matters. Conor did milk it too the perfection.
Talking does not make fights, the fighting does. Nothing a fighter says gets me more or less interested in a fight than I already am.

Individual's opinion doesn't really matter in big picture. Numbers do the talking.
Conor vs Floyd build up could be arguable best piece of entertainment fight community have ever faced. It's one of the biggest fights in boxing and probably would be the biggest if we would not live in piracy age.Fight would never happened without two mesmerizing characters.Personalities always drive the numbers.
Greatest technique specialists can damage the sport - just look at HW in boxing. Klitschko brothers practically ruined the division.

This utopia mindset that the greatest fighters equal best numbers is easy to be attached to, but it never worked. That's why UFC was dying pre TUF era. That's why some not so great fighters (as Tyson whom ducked or lost to every bigger fighter) can become cultural super starts.

Mayweather absolutely ruined conor. Been saying it for years. It was such a thorough humiliating destruction.

I remember when I was younger and naive.
Had huge faith in some things like “he will be back better than ever”

He won’t
Sad motherfoking fact of life

That kind of thing just doesn’t happen

Couture being an exception

I don't think you're comprehending that I do not care about any of that. Someone said previously that whether you like him or not, he makes fights interesting. Which i do not agree with because nothing he does makes me more or less interested in a fight that he's apart of.

And everything about Conor/Floyd was embarrassing

Fuck the piece of shit

Flash in the pan, that had 2-3 good years fighting manlets

He's done

I miss the old Conor McGregor

First off i am no Conor nut hugger. Many times I have slaughtered him on here and rightly so

So I am on holiday in Spain flicking through the channels on the TV and I come across a re run of the Conor v Brandao fight. I then listened to the MMA hour from the Monday following with Ariel interviewing Conor.

WTF happened to that guy. Very Witty, funny, talented, humble and most of all ridiculously likeable. Such a shame that he has turned into a first class bellend. I remember at the time thinking he was a decent fighter but no way would I have predicted he would turn out to be such a massive star

Can't blame him for chasing the huge payday v Floyd but from that moment he has been on a steady decline. Such a shame as he was in his prime and had just put on by far his most impressive performance when he destroyed Eddie Alvarez. Dana has to take some of the blame for allowing him to run riot without consequence

It's sad that money and fame can change someone so fast
If you miss a dude you never met you are definitely a nuthugger bro.

Indeed. A brief, annoying, insufferable and cunty era.

I never liked him, and I won't miss him.

Skipped all the comments how great technical fighters can result in stagnation.
Skipped all the comments how sport is driven by personalities.

At least you dissed Conor. Good boy.
As you said - you don't care. As long as you can be part of paper cut, simplified justice brigade.

TS, Conor was never really humble, he was make believe humble, there's a difference.

I didn't skip anything, what you said is irrelevant to my comment on what someone else posted. Nobodies personality makes a fight more interesting to me, I don't care what your opinion on it is or anyone else's opinion is.

And I didn't diss Conor, that's the consensus opinion around here.
