Why would any company accept this? If basically every company loses absolutely massive numbers of customers from people not even accessing their sites, there's going to be a "whole country is pissed" scenario.

I see this going one of a few ways. If they pull something ridiculous, every goddamn Verizon customer in the country will cancel their service. Or, it's a very easy start for someone to come in with a new internet provider offering net neutral service, and they'll take pretty much every customer. There's pretty much no winning if they start fucking with something everyone's used to. Jesus, a lot of people were already protesting Verizon and I don't even know what the hell about, so imagine the goddamn antifa store burnings that would happen if they fucked over everyone internet service.

The one positive thing that could come if none of the above happened though, might be that fewer businesses will rely on internet, and open more stores, more jobs, more competition between local stores rather than nation-wide shipping. But most likely, none of the above will happen and things won't really change. It'll prolly just be like youtube is now, where they promote left-wing content, try to suppress right-wing content, but it's still there and their policy are just minor annoyances.

Look at all the nonsense being pushed day after day since Trump won, it is nuts. Non stop coverage about 2 scoops of ice cream.

This is a very serious issue and should be fought vigorously. I don't see it happening though.
