look i know everyone wanted to see it back in 2018-2020 but let's be honest here. Khabib would've just wrestlefucked Tony into oblivion and most likely submitted him.

Tony's whole "elbows from the bottom" strategy was pure copium.

honestly Khabib might even finish him ON THE FEET. remember when he dropped Conor with that overhand?
people forget Khabib had legit power and Tony's defensive striking was always suspect. if Khabib catches him clean early? lights out.

Everyone seems to forget that at this time Khabib was winning fights before they occurred due to fear. Remember how if he got a hand on you, that your only 2 options were to a) spend the rest of the round defending, or b) get strangled.

And his style while not made for a long term career as we eventually saw, was crazy enough that it could beat Khabib, no one else was able to stop it until Gaethje came along but that was after numerous wars and Tony cutting weight twice.

The thing that made this fight so intriguing was Tony’s durability, not just physically but mentally, Khabib mauled a lot of people and you could see them break and want out sometime in the second round, Tony was out of his mind , a mechanism of violence, he could have his head cracked open and his eyeball hanging out of his head with 2 rounds to go and he would never stop trying to kill him , sucks it never happened
