Yes. Net neutrality is the one of the things that rallies young people the most. Every time new net neutrality bills show up, there is a huge amount of discussion.
The current FCC is pretty shit though. I hope the left makes net neutrality a big issue in the mid-terms and next election cycle so we might actually get some protection put in place. I feel have a feeling they are gonna continue suiciding over Russia though, and Trump's cronies are going pick the internet bare.

It's basically me saying "Look at what's going on here" and him going "Yeah well what about what's going on here." I don't see the point in mentioning that some European countries don't have net neutrality, when it's under threat in the U.S.

Nope it's not. Guilty as charged, but I still stand by that this issue seems to be largely ignored in the War Room after searching for any thread mentioning it.
 
The time I spend on Sherdog is minimal. A lot of people seem to live on here so maybe that's the reason. This place isn't much of a threat. Is Sherdog banned in Germany and other Western European Countries? I doubt it. A lot of things I see are banned and it's rediculous how petty it can be. You are absolutely correct. There should be more outrage. People were certainly talking about it when it was sold/taken overseas where free speech is not a right.

The internet is a gigantic threat so I wasn't suprised by the action when it happened and wasn't suprised by the reactions and docility that took place afterwards. As long as people have food in their stomach there is nothing to see.

We had a thread in May after an FCC vote "Net Neutrality is dead, FCC voted to kill it" which was 5 pages and there currently is a thread over at mayberry.
Maybe it's one of the topics which aren't brought up unless there is news or some specific question.
I also don't see a lot of threads on bigger topics like healthcare or legalization of drugs or abortion unless there's some specific, new headline.
You might want to search in the 'mayberry lounge' subforum was well.

Sorry. We ignorant, uncouth Americans just can't keep up. Reminds me of that time we were the last in line to implement the world's first effective democracy. Oh well, Christopher Robbin. In fairness to us, it's not like the enlightened Europeans were around for over thirty thousand years before our ancestors and forefathers arrived here. Otherwise we might have been first.
 
It's more relevant to the US than elsewhere because of the degree of vertical integration of your network owners and content providers. Here in Oz the situation is completely different with the virtual monopoly of Telstra and the NBN, and their method of traffic prioritisation and network resale.
It could develop into an American style vertical integration of services, but that's unlikely under the current public-private partnership.
I'm not sure what the situation looks like across Europe, but I'd be surprised if it was similar to the US.
Public-Private partnerships are typically a European model.
 
The last time I remember a thread about net neutrality being posted in the war room, it seemed like most Trump reporters seemed to take issue with this administration's stance on a free and open Internet.

If you hate mainstream media as much as I do and don't want your ISP slowing down access to alternate sources of information or just flat-out don't want to have to pay extra for fast access to the website you use on a daily basis, then it's time to fight. Let all of these rich fucks know that the Internet is where we draw the line and it will be open and accessible because we say so and there will be hell to pay if it's fucked with.

Take a second out of your day to do something meaningful that benefits more than just yourself...

I knew quite a few people that got hefty fines from the German government for using Torrent sites while we were stationed there

other than that, I really could not care less if they aren't bottlenecking or altering bandwidth
