Why would they do that? Internet is not an elastic good. Its closer to a utility. They can all just charge more for zhit packages and agree not to compete so no one has a choice for an ethical company. Then they will carve out regional niches like mafia cabals and everyone will pay more for zhit internet and theyll all make more money, despite the fairy-tale the business community and @Greoric tries to sell about corporations all being rational actors and whatnot.

There's no assumption that all businesses are rational actors in my arguments. The provable premise, however, is that they're more informed actors than government could ever possibly be, even while assuming that all bureaucrats and politicians are angels.

Who else has really come to appreciate small content providers over the last 5 years? Whatever niche interest you have, there's almost guaranteed to be some channel somewhere devoted to it, with a very talented and very undercompensated person doing it for the love and whatever little money they can get to make up for sharing a passion with an audience. I really love that, and I'm afraid this will make that basically go away. And other than Rand or Bernie they would have all signed onto that deal. Bernie and Rand didn't get the nomination(not that I would have voted for crazy bernie anyway) and that left Trump.

The only other candidate I would take in place of Trump would be Rand Paul.
