Zane pulled into repechage. Pretty sure he’ll have to win 4 to qualify.

Man greco really is a whole other animal! A guy like Kamal Bey specializes most of his life, is good enough to win a junior world title, and doesn't even qualify. It's brutal.

Got me wondering if our greco guys would be better served going through a collegiate run before fully focusing on the senior greco scene. I know it might sound odd at first but for what we can offer our wrestlers in the states, it seems like a high level collegiate program might be able to get a wrestler to a higher overall level than going through the typical greco pipeline where they stick to the main OTC, NMU, or the US Army WCAP.

Think about this, Rulon Gardner, Adam Coon, Joe Warren, Brad Vering, Matt Lindland, Colton Schultz, Randy Couture, Garret Lowney, Marty Morgan, Brandon Paulson, Lindsay Durlacher, and Greg Gibson were all top tier collegiate wrestlers before fully excelling in greco.

And guys like Dennis Hall, Jesse Thielke, Justin Lester, Heath Sims, were all extremely high-level and/or spent many years pursuing success in American folk style wrestling before winning medals in senior level greco roman wrestling. It just seems like cutting out the years spent wrestling at the highest level in a style that features leg attacks does not create better US greco wrestlers.

Hmmm... tweet is not posting.

Wyatt Hendrickson seems to be Taylor's first big signee.

He graduated from the air force academy and looks like the guy that plays Reacher

Pretty interesting signing. Looks like he entered the transfer portal to use his extra year of COVID eligibility with another school, but intends to return to the Air Force after that and compete under the WCAP:

Somehow I just watched this now. His performance and his disposition says a lot. It's like he had to rediscover that voice in his head that says "I'm the heir apparent. I'm the man. This is my destiny". Looking for him to bring home the gold!

There is a chance that both Kadimagomedov (who teched Dake 11-0 in 2021) and Sidakov (beat Dake 10-7 last year) may not go to the Olympics in Paris. If this is the case, sadly we won't know if Dake has what it takes to win gold when beating the very best in his weight category. I am not saying his two world titles at 74kg aren't legitimate, but he never faced Sidakov in his world title runs in 2021 and 2022, but did get beaten when the world no.1 returned last year. Kadimagomedov has been inconsistent, so I am unsure if he'd beat Dake again.

Sadulaev is basically confirmed to be banned from these Olympic games. Possibly 2021 Olympic Champion, Zaur Uguev, too.

I really hate when sports get political. Especially in a situation like this where the top athletes are banned for simply supporting their own country. They should just do what they have been doing and make them complete as individual athletes or do a unified team like in 92 (or was it 88?) removing Sadulaev especially is terrible.

Tazhudinov takes gold with or without Sadulaev.

I have a feeling Snyder beats him if they run it back. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Snyder whooped the Iranian who came off suspension and beat him previously. I don't think anyone but Sadulaev and Gatsalov own more than one win over Snyder.

If we are going to be removing athletes based upon their country invading another, does that mean Cael has to return his gold from 2004?
