NBA NBA Thread: Offseason Extravaganza

How is it proving he's difficult to deal with? If anything its proving he knows he's worth more than the NBA max salary and finding ways to circumvent the cap. He's obviously not difficult to work with if they did it for him. They thought it was reasonable.

As for his recent impact, yeah, he's an older player with a degenerative knee. I don't expect him to be the best player on the planet.
You lost me with saying the fact that the clippers did whatever deals they did with Kawhi is proof that he is easy to deal with. He left spurs on bad terms. He asked for illegal stuff from teams. He has the cliche family members who want to be involved in negotiations so they they get their cut. At end of day, we dont know that just because ballmer gave him what he wanted, that means he must be easy to deal with. Ballmer is the richest guy in sports and was focused on building a new arena and remaining relevant as LA's little brother franchise. He probably just did whatever it took to get it done.

He left the Spurs because their dog shit medical staff and dumbfuck head coach/GM got mad he got a 2nd opinion on his knee injury. Tony Parker called him out in public despite being his teammate. That wasn't Kawi's fault. The other team was able to tell him no, assuming its true, which is another assumption. The Clippers gave him an extension too, its not like he's too difficult to get an extension out.

We know this company is currently in court for fraud. We know they cooked the booked before Ballmer was even investing in the company. This whole thing goes nowhere because they're a fraudulent company.

i think it will go nowhere because there is no smoking gun. Im just pointing out the fallacy in your logic that because kahwi signed a deal with the clippers it is proof that he is easy to deal with. So you saying every player who has ever signed a deal must therefore be easy to deal with? Because that is your argument here

no, im saying Kawhi Leonard obviously isnt that difficult to deal with since they signed him and gave him an extension

I am not saying he's more difficult or easier than others. Just that the mere fact he got an extension is proof enough he's easy enough for them.

I don't feel bad for a multi-billionaire losing money on a sports franchise. They already make ridiculous amounts of money and can leverage the team vs loans and have it all paid off and then some when they sell the team. It's completely rigged for the owners and the NBA. If you don't want Kawhi just say no. I'm sure it's happening way more than this story but F4glo Torres decided to narc.

I don’t feel bad for them either, but if it ends up fucking over the franchise it’s not good for basketball-ball or the fans.

A lot of other players are happy to collect their hundreds of millions, and get the rest on endorsements.

And KL’s management team have been renowned for being tough to deal with for years.

But yeah.. nuff said.

Here is the smoking gun: the contract said if Kawhi left the Clippers the deal was null and void. The owner funded the company which then paid his player after securing a team friendly deal from said player, but only as long as the player was on his team.

That is about as much of a smoking gun as there can be m8.

Nice sarcasm.

But winning championships means nothing if you lose respect from not only the players but the fans as well. And he won't go in the hall of fame the way things are going now.

Those things mean nothing in the long run. It's about integrity and Kawhi doesn't clearly have that.

TBH I don’t think any players or fans care. This is the same league that is filled with felons and generally pieces of shit. If anything the players probably respect the hustle or some bs.

As I’ve stated already in this thread, I think the clippers cheated and you’d have to have your head in the sand to think otherwise. Problem is, if there is nothing in writing directly connecting the clippers to having influenced what went down between this fraud organization and kawhi, I’m just not sure you can drop the hammer on the clippers.

It plausible that Aspiration would have given kawhi this deal because they had vested interest in the clippers brand and therefore paying kawhi under the table to be a clipper was a decision they made without being directly told to by the clippers.

Pablo torre was asked very directly if there was any hard in writing confirmation of Steve baller or the clippers telling aspiration to pay kawhi. He responded no, Steve baller wouldn’t be that stupid. This is more of an “IQ test” (Pablo’s exact words) where you have to put the pieces together using common sense.

I’m a bit of hater, I’d love to see this blow up in their faces. Especially for being so sloppy about it. I’d love to be wrong

It’s funny how the Faker garbage fans are the only ones really pushing for this lmao.

If there's nothing in writing nothing will happen and I doubt it was documented.

its funny you think lakers fans actually care about the clippers as if they are relevant to us lmao
Lmao Fakers aren’t relevant to shit anymore besides being the most hated team /fans in sports.

They were a lot more liked with Kobe around, nobody likes LeFruad lames. The low iq scummy fanbase really does it though.

Lmao at that piece of absolute scum @Croaker giving his 2 cents on “left ideology “ in the war room.

Stick to steroids and street fighter tournaments you lonely reject lmao .
Nobody wants to hear your garbage analysis on anything

While it looks dodgey AF, it’s not quite a smoking gun.

You could make the argument that Aspiration, due to its alignment with the clippers.. (they had jersey patch and name on seats) would benefit from Kawhai staying with the clippers - Thus having that as a stipulation in the contract..

I saw something that Aspiration was the sponsor of the Kawhi bobble head. Wouldn’t that fill some type of promotional arrangement? Too bad the clippers said they were a victim of fraud though. Lol
