Ive been more into this whole Kawhi thing than I should be. Ive read articles, watched an interview steve balmer gave and watched pablo torre give an interview. I think its pretty clear there was some shady stuff going on. But I doubt there is any smoking gun to prove the clippers intentionally circumvented the salary cap. I think the most likely scenario is that balmer told kawhi that i can introduce you to people that will hook you up. ballmer admits to setting up the meeting between kawhi and the people running the aspiration company. But he says that after introducing them, he had no further knowledge of what kind of deal they worked out. My guess it was wink wink type stuff where Aspiration gave kawhi free money knowing that it would help keep them in good business with the clippers. Basically the clippers cheated but i doubt it can be proven.

Here is my thing, Nike is worth $110 billion, Lebron's shoe sold $340,000,000 worth, and they give him 30m/year.

This "sustainability company" decides to pay 28m for ... basically nothing? For someone with no charisma or ability to sell anything? To just not really do adds for their sustainability company?

Make it make sense. It's so blatant and indefensible.

The owner of the team just gives them the money, and they decide to hire his player?

But winning championships means nothing if you lose respect from not only the players but the fans as well. And he won't go in the hall of fame the way things are going now.

Those things mean nothing in the long run. It's about integrity and Kawhi doesn't clearly have that.

I'm actually a big fan of Kawhi and his game. I think he's a tremendous player at his prime.

But this is pretty bad actually, we will see how it unfolds.

It doesn't look good for him, his team and the league.

Respect is way more important. Paying his bills is irrelevant. The guy makes multi millions, how much more does he need?

He won't go on the hall of fame if this is proven.

And doesn't matter how many championships he's won. He could've won 30 championships, but if you lose integrity of yourself that's everlasting.

They also traded SGA, the champion and mvp.. smh

Kawhai is a nice player but he’s not as good as Giannis, SGA or others.. yeah he won 2 chips, but the first he was playing with a stacked team, 3 HOF and a good bench, 2nd chip his opponent lost 2 of their top 3 players to injury in the finals, he did play really well though. He’s great but he’s not on that S tier of player, mainly due to his lack of availability.

He has always been injured, difficult behind the scenes, and hasnt had long stretches of dominating games.. while other stars are taking over games and putting up big numbers for like 5 years straight.

He's been injured, he's a top 10 player in the league with top upside when he's healthy. He's quite literally the best 2 way wing in the league not named LeBron James in the same era. He's that while missing significant time. That first Slurs team wasn't stacked. They had the best finals performance of all time and it will never be replicated. He pissed off a slave master and got shipped to Toronto out of spite and he won a ring there. It's not his fault the Warriors were injured. He wont the ring as the best player. KD suffered the achilles tear or whatever in game 5. Bodied Stephanie Urry (literally loling people forget this when bringing up Steph "legacy.") and he decided I wanted to play somewhere that didnt suck.

They traded SGA for Paul George, not Kawhi.
