He's got a shot. The Basketball Hall of Fame is not as strict as Cooperstown or Canton . Ralph Sampson is in the Hall of Fame after playing less that 456 regular season games . He is in on the strength of an overhyped College career , he was a 3 time player of the year but didn't win any NCAA titles and he was Mr Glass in the NBA .

Sampson also benefited from being hooked to Hakeem as part of the "Twin Towers." Even though Hakeem was the true talent of the two, Sampson gets a sort of boost to his career story arch because he's connected in that way to an all time great.

I would say he probably waits longer than Ben Wallace. Wallace was a weird one averaged less than 7 points but yeah we all know he was all about defense and rebounding to the tune of 4 DPOYs and a couple of rebounding titles and arguably the best undrafted player ever.

The Warriors could go all small ball, high octane offense but then they give up a considerable amount of size and that hurts them. I honestly think they are in deep trouble unless this young Celtics team just melts down and chokes. Its a bad matchup for the Warriors. Going into it I thought the Warriors would buzz saw right through them, because lets be honest, Kerr is 21-3 in Game 1's. The team that wins Game 1 wins the series 70% of the time.

Williams III vs Looney is a pretty big mismatch for the Celtics. Better rim protector, perimeter defender and offensive player. Williams III damn near averaged a double-double in the regular season. In game 1 he was 4-for-4 with 4 blocks, 2 of them on Curry and he had some major hustle plays for them.

Warriors clamped on JT and brown and challenged everyone else to make their shots. Well. They are a damn good shooting team. If they are being given the open looks they were last night they will keep shooting very well.

The dubs have to make a choice. Either play with less help D on the stars, and force Tatum and brown to make some shots, or, keep sagging off and hope smart/horford/the bench are inconsistent.

But I’m telling you man. They won’t be until the dubs change the scheme. Horford open on the three line, white open, Williams open, theis. These guys will fuck you up if you let them take those shots uncontested.

The problems for the warriors were on both sides of the ball. The wild thing is I still think the warriors actually have the single best player in curry. But the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th I would rate as all Celtics players. Tatum, brown, horford, and smart in that order.

So someone has to step up and interject themselves from the warriors.

Game 1 was the 5th time this playoffs that Horford has scored 20+. While it's not average for him (his average is 12.7), it's not an anomaly either. He's scored at least 20 in a game in all 4 of their playoff series. He did it twice against Milwaukee and seems due to do it again against the Warriors considering how their defense is keying in on Tatum and Brown and Boston also has other shooters to worry about and Looney is getting stretched out badly.

My big fear here is that despite all the positive indicators in favor of the Celtics, they still had to have a near perfect 4th Qtr where they shot 75% from the field and 75% from 3 to finally take over and win. Barring a miracle 4th Qtr. for the Celtics, the Warriors are business as usual right now and up 1-0. I don't think the Celtics can win a Game 7 in GS. I don't think that's realistic so they have to win this in 6 but to win this in 6 they probably need to be up 3-1 after 4 games. If this series is 2-2 after 4 I think GS is going to chop their head off.

It’s true for both teams tho. What are the chances golden state has such decisive 1st and 3rd quarters again?
