News Nate Diaz has contract extended by the UFC.

Nate is like a cheap court jester that king dana uses once in a while to entertain his castle servants

I think the UFC and Dana use guys like Nate to squash or slow down a fighter they believe is being too demanding or mouthy, so they match Nate in with them knowing the fight is gonna be grueling and tough.

Sounds like Dana prepping Conor vs Nate again

Dana gonna squeeze all the juice out of them both and then throw them off that speedboat, just like everyone else in that GIF has been.

The only fight that makes sense for Diaz is McGregor 3. Nothing else is appropriate because Nate doesn't really fit in the rankings since he's not fighting for the belt anymore.

Only 7 fights in over 7 years for Nate. If you told me 10 years ago the Diaz brothers would end up being part time fighters that just complain about everything I would have told you you're crazy. Nick hasn't won a fight since 2011 and Nate hasn't done shit either. Wish they'd just officially go away lol.

They paid their dues and clawed their way to substantial fights. Once GSP and Conor McGregor type money entered the picture, they were already battled hardened vets wanting to build a good nest egg.

Conor was gifted opportunities.

Why would he do an unknown like Chimaev a favour and put him on the map?
Let him work his way up and challenge at 185

I don’t know Fight Radio — are they credible? Because if their scoops are anything like that amateur-looking graphic and arbitrary capitalization, I’m inclined to say…
<DontBelieve1>

I think they want to hold on to him in order to do Conor 3.

Conor has lost most of his shine and can't compete with the elite guys anymore. But he can certainly beat Nate and coincidentally it is probably the biggest fight in terms of ppv that Conor can do at the moment. so this is the biggest reason to keep nate.

The other reason is to keep Nate off the celebrity boxing circuit. Nate vs Jake Paul would be HUGE and Dana knows it so he is just nixing that possibility

TS,

you misunderstood there was no new contract for Nate Diaz.

He is fighting on the same contract which the UFC was able to extend past its former date of expiration due to a tolling clause within it which stipulates that a fighters contract can be extended by the promotion if a fight is turned down for any reason.

Usually the extension will add six months to the expiration date but the promotion can invoke that tolling clause every time Nate turns down a fight.

This is why Francis Ngannou chose to fight Ciryl Gane instead of "holding out".

Nate already pitched a fight vs Poirier, lets go!

He also said he wanted to fight Luque a cpl months ago. Suddenly Borz name gets thrown in there. I’m not even sure anymore.

Does Nate really want out of his contract? Or is he diddling around looking for an extension that includes the Conor trilogy?

If he wanted out any fight would have done. And would losing to Borz really diminish his worth any more than getting his ass booted by Edwards, and Masvidal?

I’m definitely thinking this is nothing but a negotiation ploy by Nate. He doesn’t want or expect Triller or Showtime to come knocking any time soon. He wants that trilogy with Conor, which means resigning a new UFC contract. This guy is a diva, and if he had any muscle to flex he would have fought out his contract.

Why doesn't he have a fight booked yet? For months he's been saying that he wants to fight and multiple people (obviously) want to fight him.

Makes sense

the ufc wants to use Nate as a stepping stone. In turn Nate gets an opportunity at gold. If he keeps winning his next 3-5 fights it’s inevitable.

I thought he didn’t want his contract extended?
