I was gonna say Fedor. He never had what you would call orthodox striking, but man was it effective.

Brock Lesnar wasn't a bad striker before he got sick.

He was, he clearly had power but never had to face quality striking pre illness, Randy lacked power and Mir/Herring could be taken down easily.

In MMA terms I'm not sure I'd even call the likes of Chuck, JDS and Fedor unorthodox, in MMA lower hands and a focus on looping shots is pretty common.
