My state scammed me

So when my baby was born my state offered me a free paternity test. I was already certain this was my baby, but I figured hey why not. It's free & it will shut up anyone who has doubt, given that the pregnancy situation was a mess. My girl lost her marbles when she became pregnant. Anyway I requested the free paternity test & obviously it was proven I'm the father.

Here's where the bullshit starts. Now my state is demanding I pay child support for my child that I'm already supporting. No one has ever even mentioned child support other than the state. And we aren't getting any government assistance at all. My girl has already said if they do force me to pay child support, she'll just give that money right back to me. Either way it's still fucked up that the government is forcing me to pay child support for my baby which I'm already supporting. Makes no sense.

Lesson learned. If your state offers you a free paternity test, tell them to fuck off. If you have any doubt, pay a private company to do the paternity test for you. Don't get scammed like I did. Now I'll have to hire an attorney & fight this in court. Big waste of time & money.

He was living with his daughter, her mom (They were separated), baby mommas other kid, and baby mommas mother. He was the only adult brining home a paycheck. And still got hit with child support.

If she didn't work, I'd bet she was at least getting food stamps or something. I feel like if the mom is getting any assistance at all, the government will try to get as much as they can out of the father. But the government probably tries take everything they can from the father no matter what

I haven't contacted anyone yet, but I would consider. This is basically the government taking advantage of me for their financial gain

In Massachusetts that's how it will go as soon as the state gets involved. The only thing that is handled differently is if the payee supports him or her self through their own business. For that they are still expected to send payments to a state office. It could be worse I guess though I do remember being a little insulted that I was kind of lumped into a group with people that didn't accept their responsibility at first. Then it was just convenient.

Well luckily for me I'm self employed & they can't control my money as much as they'd like too. I love it when I get cash jobs. They can't tax or take money they don't know about.

Missouri. And from what people are saying, the state will get a percentage of my child support. So that may be why they get involved
