My prediction for DDP vs Chimaev

Being a cat means spending 80% of life sleeping, 15% plotting the downfall of the dog, and 5% sprinting around the house at 3 a.m. for reasons we will never explain 🍖🐈
I barely sleep tho

For someone who's bat shit crazy it's not a terrible take. I like the idea of a decision but think it will be a 3-2 going either way.

What are those cat stuff? @Luthien also posts Luffy :cat emoticon:

I don't get it lol
We have a pair (possibly more) of diehard cat fans. They're both good posters on here. Just giving a little shout out to them.

The problem though is that DDP's recover has a high % and is repeatable, not just isolated... He breaks wrist control quickly, turns head position, builds base instead of giving up guard... It's not a matter of "can DDP be taken down?" as much as it is "can he be held and threatened a finish before Khamzat can no longer sustain the same pressure?"... That's way tougher imo

DDP has literally said the opposite in multiple camps "I'll wrestle Khamzat". And it's shown that he does stand, wall walks, control hip posture and usually punishes on breaks... His best thing isn't his TDD but denying rides and finishes... Maybe the cardio has gotten better, but new cardio coach is not a claim that can be proven until we see how Khamzat deals with round 4/5 while having to wrestle heavily. Chimaev has never won a five rounds in UFC... Whenever he went to the third round, it shows the consistent R1 big pressure and spike, R2-3 fading more. I can't give him a 25 minute pressure cardio until it's proven. I'm not saying his wrestling is not amazing, but he finishes often in rides + back control instead of a heavy ground and pound pressure, for example... And if you look at DDP while on bottom position, he has odd stances , frames and he repeatedly builds wall which makes that finishing style less of a sure thing than you think, specially in a round...

Yeah DDP wasn't that serious with the one dimensional wrestler, no one thinks Khamzat is one dimensional still tho, he's far more proven as an offensive grappler than a five round control fighter who keeps digging and winning minutes... Plus DDP constantly targets body and legs to tax opponents' cardio... if he lands those, which he does generally, a bunch of body and legs strikes, as the fight goes on to round 2 and 3 Khamzat's wrestling attempts drop in speed and quality, and DDP starts imo to take over, as he is proven in deep waters and extended fights.
Well we see how that went for him. He had 53 seconds of control time vs 21:49. He was totally dominated in the one thing he acknowledged Khazmat as being. He did deny subs, which is why people claim it was boring . They have no clue apparently that from crucifix no one goes for subs. Why would they give up such a dominating position . I like DPP but he will never win a rematch cause he will never be even close to the level of the wolf its too late to train that much and learn that much. I guess he could get he miracle punch ko, but that's what it would be is a miracle. That was the most dominating fight I've ever seen as a title fight that I can remember. He made DPP look like an amateur. It's like the wolf was the black belt BJJ instructor playing with the first day white belt by repeatedly putting him in the crucifix and poking his finger into their forehead repeatedly. Lol.

Khamzat said in post fight interview, that when he wants to toy with this friend, he put them in the crucifix position for 25 minutes to 1 hour, to humble them... <36>

Thanks for blessing us, with another masterclass. <RomeroSalute>
Lmao. Well I admitted I was wrong. But I couldn't have imagined Chimaev would have this cardio to do that for 5 rounds.

I guess though might have overrated DDP's cardio? Because he has been on 5 rounds fights, yes. He has proven a high level cardio, yes. But not against someone that is a chain wrestler. So if Chimaev's output drops, so doesn't DDP's when needing to be actively defending on the ground submission threats, when Chimaev was landing knees to the body, elbows to the body. It all saps energy too. So... DDP had a proven cardio but not vs someone trying to take him down many times... Which is a different thing.

I should have accounted for that, that Khamzat would lower his pace but so would Dricus as he hasn't been in those situation if needing to stop takedowns, getting taken down at will, needing to stop submissions threats...

I looked at the Usman fight as a baseline because Usman stopped the first round while being on the ground the entire time and almost finished. He didn't offer a threat in resisting the takedown that much. And in the second round, Chimaev wasn't wrestling, he was striking vs a very good striker until he picked when to shoot, in specific moments. I guess that speaks for Usman's condition in situations of wrestling — he has a huge solid TDD, so Chimaev knew that the energy spent on taking Usman down is way more taxing. With DDP, taking him down was easy... While DDP survived many times there, his cardio was also being sapped while on bottom. So I was wrong in that not having a good TDD but a solid ground defense would work, when actually... That lack of TDD was the thing that made Khamzat play with him, as it was so easy to take him down, that the energy he'd spend wouldn't be that big vs the energy DDP was spending in fighting on the bottom not to be finished. When someone has a good TDD, not just a good ground defense and jiu jitsu, then that's trickier as the energy to take that person down is taxing.

Wow, yeah I was totally wrong, good job, Borz!!

This should make you feel better bro. Because you know nothing I always bet HUGE on the opposite of your predictions. I had 30 years more of work now I’m retired. I have a mansion on the beach I snort blow and fuck dime pieces from dawn to dusk: all because of you, it’s clear you know NOTHING. and I bet hundreds of thousands on the opposite or what you say. So with all that said you’ve made me a multi millionaire who no longer has to work and lives the dream. YOU did this. For me. My kids will now go the most exquisite schools in the north east. My relatives I’ve set up for life. My brothers good to go, you did this for my family. I can only repay you by saying I hope you enjoy work tomorrow :)& my family says god bless

Inshalllahhh
