Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

They just got rid of Robelis Desapaigne. Since's he's not UFC anymore he is now a proper subject of discussion here. Big hype train, although I'm sure he is probably very smart.
Though not ufc anymore he was in so cannot be talked about here, though I think he will figure it out it was too early for him to be in UFC like Larissa Pacheco he will improve... and get tied into a contract outside UFC and not be able to return. :(

He should fight that other big guy that just lost to Francis. The one with the long arms. Battle of the long reach.

Despaigne was probably one of the bigger disappointments I have seen. I think everyone expected his ground game to be horrible but getting controlled by Acosta is outrageous.

He lost to Austen Lane, there's no bouncing back from that. He's the striking version of Juan Adams, sucks anywhere that's not in his wheelhouse and even there he's pretty unremarkable.

Seriously, his hands suck which isn't surprising for a TKD guy, but even his kicking game is nothing special. He's literally just a big guy with power and nothing else.

New PQD FIGHT! 22.11.2024

Was a bit worried, because this guy posts a lot of training with Brazilian MMA legends on his Instagram while also seemingly being involved in the military to some extent.
Hope he doesn't go the influencer route and stays fighting.
Lol I just checked it again and the guy he is fighting also has PQD as his nickname.
Winner keeps the name loser has to take a new one in disgrace.

?? What in the world?

I suppose it means something that I don't understand.

Edit:

Presumably it's a reference to the military unit this documentary is about.

A google search tells me it has something to do with Parachute Infantry Brigade of the Brazilian army.
Apparently 2 (ex) soldiers fighting in this one.

He needs to be in the UFC asap. What a beatdown on Roura. Those who’ve seen Roura know how tough he is and Pegajoso just beat him down.

Yeah he's really fucking good. I love how patient he is, just starts tooling guys with the jab and forcing them to open up then counters the shit out of them. Very good grappling and cardio too. For sure a UFC level guy.

22. Hecher Sosa – 1995 – Spain – Wow FC – 10-1 (New-entry)
Hecher is very good. He was supposed to step in for Tavares when he withdrew from the fight with Loughran at UFC 304 before Hadley stepped in, but Hecher says Loughran refused it. He's fighting Roger Blanque in the main event of WAR MMA 4.

Salah Eddie Hamli who's 7-0 is on the card as well against Gabriel Pasqualotti who's also undefeated. Never seen Pasqualotti, but I like Hamli although he hasn't fought anyone noteworthy yet.

Ricco Rodriguez, yes, that Ricco Rodriguez is also fighting on the card.
19. Andres Luna Martinetti - 1995 - Ecuador - Fusion FC - 15-1
Out of nowhere Budo Sento just announced he'll be in a Budo Striking fight on todays card. Not MMA, but it's cool seeing him staying active.

Yersultan Shakenbay debuts in proffesional MMA symbolically on 6 october. IMMAF x3 undefeated flyweight champion.

I already shouted this out. He fought a decent guy in his debut, but he didn't look too good. He is only 21 though, a Flyweight to be on everyone's radar immediately.
