Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

What do we think of Kade Ruotolo? I'm pretty confident he reaches one one fc championship fight, as he seems to be one of their biggest stars divisions now that mikey and christian lee are gone.
He has a much more dynamic bjj than the danaher guys which would translate better to MMA.

There's like 5 guys in each ONE MMA division, that's not saying much. Who would be fight? Christian Lee? I just want to see him stay active and maybe move to PFL or UFC in like 3-4 years. Any Russian fighter likely keeps it upright and bangs him up at this point.

Kyouma Akimoto

Country - Japan
Weight Class - Featherweight/Bantamweight
Age : 18
Promotion - RIZIN
Team - Paraestra Kashiwa
Record : 7-0

I don't normally do RIZIN as I consider them a major promotion but I wanted to cover this kid because he's really fucking impressive for an 18 year old.

I absolutely love his boxing, apparently he's been boxing since he was very young and it shows. He's got excellent poise, a great jab and a hard cross behind it, mixes things really well to the body and seems to have some pop too.

Also seems like a very good grappler as he's able to get some good double legs against the cage, control his opponents on the floor and unload with some good ground and pound against the cage.

At 2-0 in RIZIN as an 18 year old, the sky really is the limit here.

He has enormous potential. His striking already looks decent and he is a world-class grappler.

The Paraestra circuit is producing all the Japanese talent. Akimoto and Nakaike are super young and look really talented. Curious to see how they pan out over the years.

Hopefully some of our Korean prospects like Si Won Park, Tae Kyun Kim and Joo Sang Soo can get on the card.

Regional fighter who crashed UFC 308 presser booked for make-or-break fight with contract on the line.

Dorobshokh Nabotov’s fight was announced on Instagram. The undefeated Lightweight combatant will take on top Brazilian prospect Matheus Camilo on Sat., Dec. 14, 2024, inside KINTEX Exhibition Hall 7A in Goyang, South Korea. Z-Fight Night (ZFN) promotion, spearheaded by retired UFC featherweight Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung. ZFN is expected to air on UFC Fight Pass.

I see Joo Sang Yoo 7-0 vs Masuto Kawana 10-4

In Soo Hwang vs Han Seul Kim

Dani Barbir

Country - Croatia
Weight Class - Middleweight
Age : Not sure
Promotion - FNC
Team - American Top Team Zagreb
Record : 7-0

This dude looks super athletic and explosive from what I've seen of him. Very interesting attributes to have at 185. At the latest FNC card he was fighting a shorter, stocky dude and immediately started firing flying knees and other explosive stuff at him. He then found a huge front kick to the chin which reminded me of the one Abus Magomedov hit Stolzsfus with and he then followed up with really hard ground and pound. For some reason the ref was willing to let the other dude die, so he decided to show that he's got some BJJ chops from the top at least and finished the guy with an arm triangle. Very interested in seeing how a dude with this kind of athletic ability develops.
