Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

Not sure what to think of Gafurov after he lost to Chad in DWCS. He's a pretty good wrestler and is wild and powerful on the feet, but he needs to sharpen up his fundamentals.

He was very ill for that fight. I think that's been backed up by his performances since.

Tae Kyun Kim took his first L today against Roman Bogatov at BRAVE CF 64. Neither fighter really looked that great to be honest. Tae Kyun’s very active off his back, but a gassed Bogatov was able to take him down a few times.

Yamato Nishikawa not to be in ufc as Shooto not release him? Why would Shooto hold a fighter back like that? But ufc signed Gabriella Fernandes.

Promotions are starting to get more strict with that. Wonder if they are getting money for the fighters? Doubt it since the UFC is cheap

Very frustrating. It could have gone either way, but Kim could have won clearly if he'd just disengaged properly and not just left his foot there all the time for Bogatov to grab hold of and make contact.

Shamil Gaziev is now 9-0. He started out a bit reserved against Pavel Dailidko in the first round and the crowd was getting restless. In the second round he caught him with a big left hand and got a TKO stoppage. Great finish. I could see him getting signed by one of the bigger promotions soon.

That will depend on if Brave let him go.

Not sure they’re on anyone’s radar, but Shawn da Silva who is now 4-0 and Bogdan Grad who is now 10-1 looked great on the CFS 12 card today. Da Silva knocked out Diego Hevia with a big flying knee in the first round and Bgodan was getting caught by Tudor Dermenji before catching him in a wild exchange and knocking him out with a spinning kick.

Da Silva caught a nice finish but I think I was more impressed with the skillset of Ger Harris on that card, they're both flyweights so maybe they could fight next.

Not really sold on Grad, looks pretty average to me. I think Florian Aberger is the best Austrian prospect.

Shooto Brasil 112

Davi Costa won the Shooto Brasil FLW title tonight against Felipe Gheno. He looked pretty good as he caught Gheno in a rear naked choke in the second round.

CFFC 114

Makoto Takahashi looked incredible last night and won the CFFC FLW title with a crazy gator roll ninja choke against Diego Paiva who is a Demian Maia trained fighter. He has ridiculous power in his hand as he was dropping some big ground and pound.

Open FC 24

Alexander Soldatkin beat Roggers Souza at Open FC 24 (Tapology has at 26, but they promoted it as 24). It was a brief bawl in which Soldatkin showed he has big power in his hands as he caught Roggers in a wild exchange.

Not sure if Jora Ayvazyan is on anyone’s radar, but he’s 13-1 and looked impressive as he stoped Zalimbeg Omarov with a head kick in the first round as well on the card.

Jungle Fight 112

Stephanie Luciano and Karina Aryadne are figthing on the Jungle Fight card today for the strawweight title. Their records look pretty good. Stephanie is 4-1 and her only loss was decision and Karina is 5-0 with 4 of the 5 being first round finishes and the other being a second round finish. Obviously neither has faced top competition yet, but they’re still young and are still gaining experience.

Jungle Fight 112

Luciano beat Aryadne for the Jungle Fight flyweight title. It was a 5 round fight. Both fighters are still relatively young and inexperienced, but they definitely benefited of having fought through such a long fight.

It’s also worth mentioning João Dantas defeated Carlos Bazan for theJ Jungle Fight middleweight title on the card in a regional FOTY candidate. Dantas is now 6-1 with his only loss being to Lucas Fernando so it’s to no slouch. Dantas was impressive against Bazan as he got rocked a few times and it was really impressive how tough he is and how he was able to overcome adversity and stop a gassed Bazan in the second round.
