Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

Gutted to have missed this IMMAF event all week. Booking the week off next time it’s on.

Read an interview today with Roberto Soldic's manager. He's got one fight left on his KSW contract, not sure what will happen then, but says Soldic targets signing with the UFC after that fight.
He needs a couple off months to clear his system for USADA. Not saying that USADA is any good at catching users or that not everyone on the regionals is using, but you can't juice as hard as Soldic does in KSW

Weight Class - Lightweight
Age : 23
Promotion - Oktagon
Record : 7-0

Fucking hell, it's rare that people have this kind of first impression on me but this guy seems to have the goods. He made his Oktagon debut which was a serious step up in promotional quality and opposition, took a ranked opponent there and just made him look like an absolute can.

Just crazy fast, moving in and out with his head moving nicely and throwing quick and powerful combinations, looking almost like he's fighting in a different dimension to his opponent. I need to see someone test him in the grappling department, but this guy is a serious, serious problem on the feet.

Highly recommend checking his fight out

His quickness is impressive, but i wouldnt call it serious step up of competition, mainly when he fought someone like Ryšavy....Paradaiser will be true test for him.

BTW Pešta is near of signing with over sea promotion, what promotion do you think it is. Eagle FC / PFL?

Pesta is decent, I think he'd hold his own in the UFC at 205lbs to be honest but I'd say it's likely to be PFL.

Do you think he will stay or is there a chance he will test free agency?
Seems like he smart enough to not brag/announce that he is leaving. I haven’t seen any info where he plans to fight next.
But thinking of it if this last fight and he didn’t resigned maybe that means that he is testing free agency?

He seems to be getting a second wind after the 3rd Lima fight. If he ever wants to give the UFC a run in has to be during this next run. He has a monster test ahead of him against Berkhamov btw.

He could definitely win against some ranked UFC fighters like Cutelaba, Spann, Crute, Hill or Craig.... but dont think that UFC is interested in signing him atm.

PFL honestly as well. They got picked up by ESPN again so I think they are quickly signing everyone since they know they aren't gonna disappear. I've seen Brendan Loughnane and a lot off the other guys from last season signing deals with PFL since the news off the ESPN renewal so I think everyone was just wondering if PFL will fold or not

Maybe Bellator since he beat Stephan Puetz in his last bout and Bellator had him under contract before letting him go due to the pandemic

Jose Perez

Country - USA
Weight Class - Featherweight
Age : 26
Promotion - CFFC
Record : 6-1

I was more interested in Jose's opponent Paul Capaldo coming into this one, but left impressed by Perez. I thought of him as more of a grappler, but he was working really nicely behind his jab in this one and putting really good pressure on his opponent on route to a comfortable win against a highly touted prospect who was due to be on DWCS last year were it not for a positive covid test. All this while working through a massive cut that was basically pissing blood all over the cage.

Oh and Gasanov was ridiculously impressive again. Not going to write him up as I've done it before and I think he's now just one of the best MW's in the world rather than just a prospect. Made a good fighter in Dzhanaev look like a helpless can.

Aaron Jeffery and Ramazan Kuramagomedov however can both get to fuck with those horribly boring performances.

I was hoping Jeffrey would make a statement.

He did, but unfortunately that statement was "I am very boring"

It was another bout on the same card that fell through but he got booked again against another Brazilian

As long as he's racking fights up. If he strings 3 wins together against solid comp I reckon he gets the call.
