Murad Guseinov

Country - "Bahrain"
Weight Class - Welterweight
Age : 26
Promotion - BRAVE
Team - KHK
Record : 8-0

Another one of the Dagi guys who did great in the IMMAF as an amateur and then magically became Bahrainis. Murad has mainly impressed with his sub game so far in his career, but in this fight I was honestly more impressed with how good and varied his kicks looked. Landing loads of them and landing at all angles and to all targets. Then as soon as he gets bored of doing that he takes the man down and gets a ground and pound stoppage.

Radley da Silva

Country - Canada
Weight Class - Lightweight
Age : Not sure
Promotion - Battlefield
Team - Not sure
Record : 6-1

Bit of a weird career, this dude. He made his pro-debut 11 years ago and lost, then evened up his record, then didn't fight for 6 years before coming back to grab a win just before the pandemic. Then presumably that fucked everything up for him because he then disappears for another 4 years before coming back just under a year ago and racking up four wins in less than a year. I have absolutely no idea how old he is but he's probably not that young.

Anyway, this dude is explosive as fuck. Absolutely loves throwing hard shots and athletic spinning shit. If I was to look for a comparison I would say think Charles Jourdain but one who throws spinning stuff instead of flying stuff. No idea what he's like off his back but held off the takedown attempts of an undefeated American opponent who seemed like the gritty wrestler type.

Then holy fuck did he hit one of the most beautiful spinning back kicks I've ever seen for the KO. I mean absolutely fucking beautiful.

With records like this, my immediate thought is always 'jail sentences'.

According to this article published in May he is 28(or likely 29 now).

His dad was also a pro fighter with a loss to Jeremy Kennedy.

Hoping you will post one of your summaries on DWCS.
Week 5 – September 10:
LHW - Navajo Sterling (4-0) Vs Phillip Latu (6-1)
WW - Kody Steele (6-0) Vs Quemuel Ottoni (12-3)
LHW - Yousri Belgaroui (7-3) (KB) vs. Taiga Iwasaki (9-1, 4)
BW - Otar Tanzilov11-3 (9-0) vs. Josias Musasa (7-0)
W-FLY - Corrine Laframboise (8-4) vs. Nicolle Caliari (7-2)

This kid is pretty good imo seems to have lights out grappling but has been using his standup more recently to win fights.

Submitting Ramazan Gasanov is not real enough for you?

Yeah, it's not good enough for me, submitting someonenin a Pankration tournament. I watched some of his footage and honestly his height doesn't look accurate to me either (could be wrong) but I think Abdulaziz is more like 5'7. He also looked really sloppy for having so much amateur experience in the pro bouts I saw vs soup cans. Definitely doesn't look the part like a Chopurov or a Kasib Murdoch. We will see though, I hope I'm wrong, but I kinda dismissed him until I see more.

Santiago Luna

Country - Mexico
Weight Class - Bantamweight
Age : 20
Promotion - LXF
Team - Entram Gym
Record : 5-0

I'd seen this kid before on the LATAM scene beating lower level guys and thought he was someone to keep an eye on and he really stepped it up at the weekend.

Fighting a 6-1 Dagestani wrestler who's won a couple of ACA Young Eagles fights he passed a test that a lot of people fail. Absolutely love the pace the kid puts on, always trying to pressure where he can and with very fast flurries up the middle that were catching Bayduev repeatedly. Really good takedown defence too, obviously Bayduev was shooting a lot and he was using his whizzer brilliantly to kind of throw himself over his back to stay on his feet. He did get taken down once but he stayed pretty patient and exploded up again when the opportunity presented himself.

His cardio is great and his TDD and pressure when he wasn't defending takedowns was tiring Baduev to the point of exhaustion and in the third round Luna actually started to dominate the wrestling, taking his Dagestani opponent down. I was also impressed that even though he was clearly up on the scorecards and could have cruised to a decision he chose to really push the pace as hard as he could towards the end of the fight and secured a rear naked choke with less than a minute to go in the fight.

Very impressive kid.

Not sure he’s on your radar yet, but Alberth Bahamondes is the 6’2 15 year old little brother of Ignacio Bahamondes from Chile. He’s 4-0 as a pro with all being finishes and just choked out Jhon Grueso who is twice his age.
He moved up to 5-0. Picked up another first round submission win with an armbar over the weekend. Dana was asked about him at the UFC 306 press conference. He said he wasn't familiar with him and the reporter told him he was 17 (he's 16) and that he was undefeated as a pro and Dana replied he could be on next season of DWCS. I hope it doesn't happen that soon though as he's still a kid, but it looks like he'll be on their radar.

I remember the reporter from Chile asking Dana at the post Noche press conferance about him, the reporter seemed to want an UFC event in Chile, but UFC has only one fighter from Chile... I was thinking must be hard be a country boarding Brazil and have no real MMA presence.

Imanol Rodriguez

Country - Mexico
Weight Class - Flyweight
Age : 24
Promotion - Fury FC
Team - Team Lobo
Record : 5-0

This kid trains with Diego Lopes and co at Team Lobo and has looked good before, finishing everyone that he's fought, but it was all low level fighters. This weekend he took a massive step up in a very solid regional fighter in Alberto Trujillo who's fought a lot of the top regional flyweights like Gurule, Nkuta and Moran and generally has close fights (not so much against Nkuta) and hadn't been finished by any of them, so it was an interesting test.

He was looking good early, Trujillo is known for pressure and pushing a pace and he didn't seem to be having too much issue keeping up with it. His defence looked good, his timing looked solid and he was defending takedowns by using throws if Trujillo over committed. Then once we got into the second round he times an uppercut, drops a very solid chinned dude and finishes him with ground and pound for a very impressive victory.

Could well be on the way to joining his Team Lobo teammates in the UFC sooner rather than later.

Rasul Magomedov

Country - "Bahrain"
Weight Class - Light Heavyweight
Age : 29
Promotion - BRAVE
Team - KHK
Record : 5-0

Multiple time IMMAF Heavyweight champ as an amateur, dropped to 205 as a pro and just having to kind of fight whoever has the balls to get in there with him which has lead to some questionable opponents in the past, but he can only beat who's willing to put themselves infront of him.

Pablo Benaion was another not particularly impressive opponent but Rasul dealt with him like he should have, pressuring in with big dangerous hooks, before turning it into an easy single leg and then getting to smash position and utterly beating the shit out of the poor guy. Should probably get signed by the UFC just so he can get some worthwhile opposition.

Yakhyaev, Younousov ans Sola kept their belts in Ares 25.

Yakhyaev easily RNC Jacky Jeanne in R1.

Younousov put an absolute domination on Malta but could'nt find the finish. Twice he rocked him but went for the TD, which was maybe not the best choice. Malta defended well all the RNC attempt.

Nice performance by Sola. 1st round was competitive but then his jab found the mark and he started busting Gagloev nose before pouring on him until Goddard stopped it just before the end of the 2nd.

Yep, this could be the performance that could get Axel into the UFC but arguably more importantly it's the one that'll get him an actual hype train post having been a rankings fixture without one for like two years.

Yuji Yannick Ephoeviga

Record : 9-0

It's an absolute ballache to find this guy's fights but thankfully Tribe Tokyo finally uploaded his recent win against former Bellator title challenger Emmanuel Sanchez so I was actually able to catch a full fight of his.

Anyway I wasn't disappointed as the guy looks great. Very smooth and poised on the feet, looked very patient and never got drawn into the kind of all action brawl that Sanchez favours. Hops in and out of the pocket, closing distance quickly to land his strikes and being gone when the opponent tries to throw back while mixing in nice leg kicks and having a nice high kick he throws from time to time. Kept doing that until he caught Sanchez and followed up to put him out of there.

Granted Sanchez isn't the same fighter that fought Patricio for the title in Bellator a few years ago but it's still impressive to make beating him look as easy as this.
