My ADD Training Log 2015

It's happened to me with chromed out, shitty commercial gym bars. Chalk actually makes it worse.

All my gyms bars are Ivanko other than the specialty bars. Some are bent a bit and worn as hell but they all spin free.
 
That's when the hockey tape comes out.

I've never experienced my hands slipping while benching. You may be taking the concept of pulling the bar apart a bit far.

There are a couple of bars there that have "ok" knurling, I always search for those bars before deadlifting. Guess I need to do that for benching too. Some of the bars also don't spin well. I think I'll talk to the manager or something & request some new bars. Doesn't hurt to ask right?
 
I started my second round of the RRBT program today. Got a bum hip and lower back so I need something like that to stay motivated. I gave the KTA a look over again but meh, never had much success using the heavy grippers. Almost got #3 at the end of RRBT though.

Tough workout today. Knee was hurting & had major indigestion, so thought I was going to throw up during deadlifts. Got the minimum done & got out of there. Heading to Hawaii in the AM, so will be doing some hiking this week - should be back in the gym lifting on Saturday.
 
Is hiking "code" for something.

Cause there are cars and even jeeps and ATVs in Hawaii that will take you about anywhere. No need to "hike"
 
Hiked Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail on Oahu & hiked down the cliffs to the AMAZING tide pools at the bottom.

No boars. I saw a mongoose, but it ran away.

Had dinner at Michel's last night. Killer little french restaurant right on the beach.

Didn't you guys ever see Riki-tiki-tavi?

Funny thing about Hawaii is the mongoose were brought here from India to help kill the rats. Except the rats are nocturnal & the mongoose isn't. So that didn't work out too well. The mongoose basically kill the birds, which sucks. And they breed like rabbits - so they are generally considered a pest in Hawaii. The one I saw looked like a big squirrel.

BJJ - 1 Hour

Back at Kings MMA after 2 weeks of travel! Finally! Conditioning was off, but everything else felt fine. My hip was giving my a ton of problems last week because I was spending 10-12 hours a day sitting in a class, but once I got home & got some rest, it was 100% fine today. The entire class today was specific training on open guard. Start with feet on hips & sleeve grip. Top person is trying to pass, bottom person is trying to maintain control, not sweep or submit. 5 minutes on bottom, 5 min on top, for the entire class. Good stuff. I got to spend some time working on positions I rarely use, like Reverse DLR & X-Guard.

Gym was super crowded tonight. And my knee was hurting, so I cut the deadlifts a little short & no squats.
