My ADD Training Log 2014

On Thursday morning we got up & hiked Koko Crater. It's really cool, can't recommend this enough. The "stairs" are actually left over from a railroad car or tram that went to the top of the crater for a military lookout about 100 years ago. The tram is long gone, so people use this a hiking trail now. There are over 1000 "steps", which are a good bit longer and larger than normal stairs. You go from 0 to over 1000 feet up, with spectacular views.

Yep those shoes weren't the smartest purchase. Bright Neon Yellow size 13. Not sure what I was thinking. But I'll keep wearing them until they wear out.

BJJ - 1 Hour nogi

Squeezed in an hour of no-gi jiu-jitsu this morning. Sparred with some really tough guys, 4x5 minute rounds with 1 minute between rounds. Got manhandled by an ex-UFC fighter lol

Felt good to get out & throw today. Stones felt decent, I've been able to fix some things in my standing throw & it's helping. LWFD was ok, narrowed my feet slightly, which helped me speed up - I think that's going to pay off. Hammers, as usual, sucked. My new hammer boots were rubbing a blister on my heel - I need to wear thick tall socks with them next time. And I really need to focus on hammer - It's been my worst event since I started Highland Games.

I had a pair of Pegasus back in the 80s. My motorcycle was not highlighter yellow though.

Left elbow got jacked up at jiu-jitsu Monday so DB Press hurt a little & Triceps extensions were a no-go. Sucks when guys yank submissions in training. Bench felt pretty good though - form was better with each set.

BJJ - 1 Hour

Worked some options from butterfly to enter X-guard & then some sweeps from there depending on how the opponent reacts. Good stuff - should have tried to work it into rolling later, but for whatever reason didn't. Rolled decent today, used some things I've been working on to pass open guard, also still working on basic collar chokes, just tweaking details. It's coming together...

Tiring. But I got it done. Squats were harder than they should have been, but I did this maybe 3 hours after jiu-jitsu, so I didn't expect it to be easy.
